Chapter 28

Tuesday 2nd January 2023.

Husna couldn't sleep last night, she kept throwing up and her body was burning up. She kept shivering, mahbub had to give her some pills and hugged her tightly to his body to keep her warm. She kept thinking of Abideen, she couldn't take her mind off him even though she was sick.

She didn't sleep till she prayed subh neither did mahbub. He opened his eyes and rested them on the large clock that's placed on the wall,  it was already 11:25. He looked at husna sleeping comfortably on his chest, her face looks pale and her lips was a little darker.

He placed his hands on her forehead, thankfully, she wasn't burning like yesterday. He released a deep breath before gently placing her head on the pillow before he stood up and walked into the toilet.

He brushed his teeth, and took a warm shower before walking out of the bathroom to his closet. He brought out an ash long trousers and ash shirt and wore it before spraying himself some perfume.

He grabbed his phone from the side drawer and saw 20missed calls.  He gasped as he checked the caller iD.
5 missed calls from boss
5 from Amor
And 10 from Autan Amor (zahra)

Just then, he remembered vividly that today's zahra's walima and dinner while tomorrow would be the daurin aure and kai amarya.

O my...he said as he scrolled down looking for his father's number.
He dialed his father's number and looked at husna, she's still sleeping comfortably. He quickly kissed her cheek before walking out of the room, boss has already picked the call.

Dan iskanci yau bikin kanwar ka amma har yanzu baka zo ba...Engineer mahmud fired.
Boss Dan allah kayi hakuri, wallahi jiya ba muyi bacci ba, husna is not feeling well...he explained as he strolled down the stairs.

Subhanallahi, meya same ta? He asked his voice is now soft.
It's fever I guess, she'd been throwing up and she said her head is hurting...he explained picking Asma's teddy from the ground.

Toh maza kuje asibitin yanzu, allah ya kara sauki...he said.
"Amin" mahbub muttered before ending the call.

He huffed before sitting down on the couch dialing Amor's number, as the phone rings, he awaits for her own turn to scold him for not going to his sister's wedding.

This is not fair mahbub, she was head over the hills on your wedding day as if it was her wedding, but you can't even come to her wedding as early as possible...that's the first thing he heard when Amor picked the call.

He huffed pulling his hair in frustration.
Kai de ka sani, Aunt mona( Sabrina's elder sister and also zayn's mother) is looking for you, in kaga dama kazo...she said her voice laced with anger.

Haba Amor, let me explain....he whined and she hissed before saying "I can hear you"
Husna ce batada lafiya fa, wallahi jiya bamuyi bacci ba se asubah, that's why we over slept...he explained and he heard her gasped before "innalillahi, what's wrong with her?"

She's been throwing up and her body is hot, I guess it's fever...he said with a sight.
To maza ka kaita asibiti, you don't have to come, just take care of her, make sure you take her to the hospital to know what's exactly wrong with her...she said and he muttered "ok" before ending the call.

Another one...he muttered as he dialed zahra's number.
He called her twice before she picked up.

Brother...she whined and he quickly cut her off because he's already tired of hearing complains.
Zahra husna is sick, that's why you didn't see us, I'm sorry...he huffed and she breathed out before saying "what's wrong with her?"
Fever...he answered curtly because he's already tired of explaining.
Allah sarki sister in law, Allah ya bata lafiya...she says and he muttered an "Amin"
