|Adam|
Stepping out of Hope's car, I grip the back door handle, opening it so that Mel could climb shakily out onto the gravel road.Just as assumed, she stumbles out into the road and I quickly grab onto her arms to prevent her from falling face first onto the ground. She grips onto my shoulders before quickly snatching her hands away from my body, face burning brightly with embarrassment.
"Hah, thanks, Adam," she laughs, slowly making her way over to where Hope stands, staring admirably into the forest. I smile to the ground, feeling myself blush slightly.
"Adam, get your ass over here! Look at this flower! Holy shit, it's a deer!"
Hope blabbers on and on while Mel gives me a meaningful look that I know all too well. Today is going to be a long day.
Before I have any idea what's going on, I feel Hope tugging on my wrist as she runs full speed into the greenery. Melody snorts, chasing after her and motioning for me to follow.
We barely notice the overcast skies as we make our way deeper and deeper into the lost land of the trees.
