"Fifteen hundred dollars! Are you insane?" I asked as I looked across the room at Ethan in complete shock and disbelief. He had overheard me telling a friend about a gorgeous designer dress that I wanted when I was talking to her on the phone yesterday.
Of course, when I said I would die to have it, I didn't mean it literally. Of course, it was a gorgeous dress, and yes I would love to own it. But I was logical. It was a brand name designer dress I would maybe wear twice, and it just wasn't worth spending that kind of money.
But that didn't seem to phase Ethan who hadn't thought twice about it when he went to the store and purchased the dress in my size while I was out running errands earlier.
Ethan was leaning against the doorframe of our master bedroom seemingly unphased by the conversation we were having.
"What's the big deal?" He shrugged as he looked over at me.
"The big deal! Ethan, this dress costs fifteen hundred dollars! That's a down payment on a house!"
"Not a very good house." He mumbled under his breath which he quickly covered up with a cough when he saw the glare I shot his way.
"This dress costs the same as six months worth of payments on my car!" I exclaimed as I put my hands on my hips and stared across the room at him.
It wasn't just that Ethan had bought a dress that was crazy expensive. But it was why. I didn't have an event to go to, and I didn't have a need for it. He bought it just because he heard me tell someone I wanted it. I mean who does that? Of course, I knew Ethan had the money, and it probably wouldn't run him short on his monthly bills by any means, but it was still insanity that he bought something so expensive on a whim.
"Do you not like it? Should I have gotten the red instead of the black?" He asked.
"Ethan...I love it, I really do. It's just-"
"Well if you love it, then that's all that matters." He said as he crossed the room and put his hands on my waist, pulling my hips to his. I reached up and wrapped my hands around his neck and sighed. I opened my mouth to say something but was cut off my Ethan's soft, warm lips pressing to mine.
Ethan's hand moved to the back of my head, and he deepened the kiss. His tongue ran across my bottom lip before slipping inside my mouth. I enjoyed the kiss for a second before moving my hands from his neck down to his chest. I gently pushed against him and pulled away from the kiss.
"We're not done talking about this, Ethan," I said as I looked up at him. "I don't like the fact that you spoil me for no reason."
Ethan answered me by pulling me back into him and leaning down to press his lips to the soft spot below my ear. He pressed a trail of soft, gentle kisses down my neck and towards the top of my cleavage that we peeking out the top of my shirt.
His hands slid down my sides, and he leaned down to put his hands on the back of my thighs. He lifted me into his arms with ease and then pulled his lips from my body. I tightened my grip around his neck as my legs wrapped around his waist.
"Well, I don't like the fact that you don't feel deserving of nice things, baby." He said as he looked down at me with his deep brown eyes. "Why don't you let me show you what else you deserve." He whispered in a low voice as he turned and headed towards the stairs.
