WORD COUNT: 1,706

I pulled up in front of the bar that Ethan had texted me the address of earlier in the afternoon. I turned my car off and looked out the window at the front of the bar. I took a deep breath and reminded myself that I could do this. All I had to do was go in, make an appearance, wish him the best, and then say my goodbyes.

Goodbye. The word that had haunted me for a couple of weeks ever since I got the news that Ethan was getting called up to the main roster. Because I knew that him getting called up meant moving on, and moving on meant forgetting. Forgetting not just everything he was going to leave in NXT, but forgetting me as well.

I wanted to think positively, but I had a fear that he would move on to bigger and better things and forget about little old me. It would start by him going to the main roster. He'd be gone on weekends to wrestle at house shows. But I could handle that. Our friendship could handle that. We'd text each other and still have a couple days a week to hang out.

Then he'd get more popular. He'd start being on the road four or five days a week instead of two or three. He'd start making appearances at radio stations and Comic Cons. He'd start hanging out with a bunch of celebrities, and I would be boring in comparison to them.

I took another deep breath before stepping out of my car and making my way into the bar. My eyes scanned the crowded bar as I searched for Ethan or anyone else from NXT that I recognized. When I didn't see anyone, I decided to head to the bar and get a drink before continuing my search.

I had been at the bar for about three minutes trying to flag down the bartender when I felt a hand on my back. I rolled my eyes and turned around ready to chew out whatever drunken bar patron was trying to flirt his way into my bed.

But my annoyance soon turned to happiness when I saw not a drunken college student, but Ethan standing there grinning down at me. I reached up on my tiptoes and wrapped my arms around his neck as he pulled me into his chest.

"I'm glad you came." He said as his lips tugged up into a slight smirk.

"Thanks for the invite, Superstar."

A light chuckle left his lips as he looked down at me. "Superstar?"

"Yeah, I figure you'll go up to the main roster and forget about little ole me."

"I could never forget you, kid." He grinned as he put his arm around my shoulders and pulled me into his side.

As it turned out never came much quicker than I ever expected it to because within five minutes I was sitting in a corner booth at the bar alone while Ethan was on the dance floor surrounded by pretty girls that could grace the cover of a magazine in a heartbeat.

I sat on the leather of the booth as I nursed my drink and watched girl after girl approach Ethan for a dance. I couldn't help but roll my eyes, each time another Barbie Doll approached him.

I was on my second drink when I felt someone slide into the booth beside me. I looked over to see Drake Maverick smiling over at me.

"What are you doing by yourself, love?" He asked. "You should be out there," he added motioning to the dance floor.

I let out a light chuckle and shook my head. "I guess this isn't really my thing."

"You've just gotta give it a chance. Have a drink and loosen up!" He said motioning to the nearly full glass in my hands.
