I brought my hands to my face as I watched the ref's hands come down for the 1-2-3. It was like a bad car crash that I couldn't look away from. My boyfriend, Ethan Carter III, had just faced Velveteen Dream at NXT Takeover Brooklyn 4.

It was a match that I, much like many of the fans, was really excited about. The chemistry the two of them had in the build-up was so intense. Every segment just made me that much more excited for the match at Takeover.

But the match that played out was nothing but disappointing. Velveteen over sold moves in the beginning making the match feel awkward in the beginning. Then Ethan started overselling moves which kept the awkwardness in the air. The crowd in the Barclays Center was uninterested. There were a few good spots but overall the match just didn't live up to the hype.

I knew as soon as the bell rang and the ref raised Velveteen's hand that Ethan was going to be pissed. I knew how much he was looking forward to this match. I knew that he wanted to put on the match of the night at Takeover Brooklyn which was the Wrestlemania of NXT. He wanted to get a victory at Takeover.

All he was leaving Brooklyn with was a loss in a less than stellar match and a busted up eye.

Velveteen made his way through the curtain first. He had a cocky smirk written on his face which soon faded when he saw Hunter rip his headset off and stand up.

"See me tonight after the show's over. You and I need to talk. There's been some changes for you getting called up." Hunter said flatly before Velveteen turned and made his way out of Gorilla.

I glanced over at the red curtain and saw Ethan step through.

He looked defeated. His head was hung low and his shoulders were dropped. He brought his hand up to wipe away some of the blood that was coming from the cut below his eyes.

"Etha-" I started to say as I reached out for his arm.

He brushed my hand away as he stepped to move past me.

"Good job out there, Carter," Hunter said before putting his hand on Ethan's shoulder.

Ethan didn't respond but gave him a slight nod letting Hunter know that Ethan heard what his boss had said.

Ethan then turned and headed down the hallway.

"Ethan wait up!" I called out as I moved to follow him.

"Give him a few minutes," Hunter said. "He probably isn't going to be easy to talk to right now." He added before hurrying down the hallway after Ethan along with one of the WWE Docs.

I slowly made my way down the hallway towards the Trainer's Room where I knew Ethan would be getting attended to for the cut to his eye.

I stood outside the door for a few minutes so that the doctors could do their job without me trying to interfere.

After about fifteen minutes later Hunter came out of the Trainer's Room along with a couple of refs.

I hesitantly knocked on the door before slowly pushing it open, not sure what I would be met with on the other side. Ethan was sitting on one of the tables with his head dropped between his shoulders as he looked down at the ground.
