Chapter 13: A Party & Conflict

Akasha's POV:
I hugged Mother tightly. She stroked my hair and kissed my forehead. She did the same to Mina. I was happy. We were a family again. I stood up since we were all crouching on the ground. I wiped my tears and remembered Scar. I walked back to the ship and grabbed his hand and ran back with him. "Mother this is Scar. He helped me when my ship crashed. And when I found Mina. She came to look for me." I smiled nervously and chuckled. "So that's where you went huh?" My Mother said and flicked Mina's forehead. Mina winced and nodded. Looking to the ground in a submissive way. I giggled and smiled at my Mother. Scar was wearing his mask so they couldn't see his face. "Well thank you for returning my daughters to me. You have done my kind a great service and you shall be rewarded for it. I will make sure of that." My mother said seductively. And I tensed up. "Umm Mother..?" I started. "Yes my child?" She asked not even looking in my direction but staring at Scar. "You can't do that." I stated. She snapped her head in my direction and titled her head. "What ever do you mean?" She said loudly. "Mother you can't reward him in that way. He is my mate and I claim him." I said puffing my chest out with pride. "Excuse me?!?!" She said angrily. "You put your hands on my child!?!" She roared in Scar's face. He tensed up and froze. He messed with his wrist gauntlet a little I guess trying to talk with my mother. "Yes, but it was consensual don't worry Madame." He tried to reason. She huffed and looked back at me. "Consensual you say? No wonder you look like that. He claimed you on your first mating cycle huh? Sly dog. But if she has accepted you, you must be a strong male." She said and with that and held out her hand. "Let me see your wrist." She commanded and he obeyed. He held out his buff arm and moved his netting. My mother then sunk her fangs into his wrist and that made me grit my teeth. He didn't even flinch but he stood there and let her. Soon she released his wrist and smiled. "You have good blood it tells me that you have a good heart, you are strong and cunning, and most importantly you are loyal." She exclaimed. I smiled and hugged Scar's buff arm. "Now I think this calls for a celebration. The reunion of me and my daughters!" My mother declared and her royal guards cheered. I laughed and me and Scar followed behind Mina and Mother.

~Time skip to the party~

Scar's POV:
Mina showed me where I should get ready for the party. I didn't have my formal attire so I just didn't bring my weapons but still wore some of my armor. "Hey Scar you ready?" Mina asked me. I nodded and she lead me to the party. I wasn't surprised to find that I was the only male there. All the other girls were staring at me with hungry eyes. I flared my mandibles and that made them stop. I looked around the dance hall but I didn't see Akasha anywhere. I decided to go chat with her mother until she arrived. We started talking about races. How different yet similar we were. I was actually enjoying the conversation because it gave me some background on Akasha. I later heard a few people gasp. I looked past Akasha's mother and saw Akasha. She looked stunning. Her hair was pulled up into a long braid and her outfit was mesmerizing.

It complimented her body so well. The purples and blues went with her skin tone so perfectly. She looked like Paya herself. I excused myself from her mother and walked towards her. She blushed and looked up at me. "May I have this dance?" I asked extending out my hand. She nodded and replied "Yes you may." She put one of her hands into mine and her other on my chest since I was taller than her. I put my free hand around her waist and gently pulled her closer. She blushed red and we started to waltz. I heard other girls cheer and holler. Some hissed and scoffed. I ignored them. I focused all of my attention on Akasha. She was all I cared about. I needed to ask her to come back with me. She was my Paya. Mine and mine alone. I leaned in to give her a kiss and she leaned in as well. Our faces were inches, no centimeters away when the door to the mess hall flung open. I looked towards it and so did Akasha. There was a woman standing in the door frame. She looked upset. Akasha sighed and pulled away from me. I was confused as to who this girl was.

Akasha's POV:
She had to show up. It was Celeste. She had a crush on me since I saved her from a terrible planet where she was being held captive. She has liked me ever since. She was upset. She was hurt. I guess she found out about Scar.

"Is it true?!" She asked hysterical. I sighed and looked down. "So it is.." She choked out. She looked at Scar glaring daggers at him. "Why? Is it because I'm different? Or Is it because I'm not one of you?" She asked me. "WHY!?!" She started to cry. "Celeste please try to understand." I tried to reason. "No! I liked you first. You promised me we would be together! I loved you and I still do! How could you!!" She yelled in my face. "Celeste I thought those things were true. But I love Scar. I liked you. But not in that way. I'm sorry I never meant to hurt you." I explained. "Well you did! What's he have that I don't! Besides you know..." She argued. "Celeste please-" "No! I'm just as strong as him. I'm probably stronger! He can't protect you like I can." She stated. "Akasha it's okay." Scar said walking up behind me and putting his hand on my shoulder. Celeste snarled. "DON'T YOU TOUCH HER!!" She yelled before sticking her hand out and shooting Scar with an air blast and knocking him back. Causing him to hit a wall and a pillar to fall onto him. "SCAR!" I yelled and ran to his side. He didn't move. "Celeste what did you do!?! Scar! SCAR!!" I yelled hoping he would move or wake up. He didn't. I looked back at Celeste who was frozen from shock.
