"Elijah Mikaelson, you are the love of my life." Evelyn Kate exclaimed, a bright smile lighting up her face as she clung to the original vampire's arm, straining to see the figure on stage.

"As you are mine." Elijah grinned, placing a sweet kiss to her temple.

As she stood on her tippy toes to see, Elijah suddenly pulled her in front of him with a quick tug and placed his hands on her tiny hips as he lifted her up into the air. Evelyn squealed with delight, glancing back at her lover before focusing on the figure singing on stage. People around them were dancing and singing along to the music, just enjoying the lively night in New Orleans.

The day was April 4th, 1965. Elijah Mikaelson and his girlfriend of almost two years were spending the day together when Evelyn had overheard rumors of her favorite singer coming to town. Elijah, of course, had no problem nabbing them tickets thanks to his impeccable power to compel those to get what he wanted. Elijah had surprised Evelyn that night when he brought her to the venue where Nat King Cole was to play, and she obliviously followed, not suspecting a thing. When the announcers presented Nat on stage, Evelyn nearly passed out, and could quite possibly have squeezed Elijah to death were he human.

"Oh, Elijah, dear, this is simply magnificent." Evelyn gushed, as the current song ended and Nat took a bow on the stage.

"I'm very glad you liked your surprise." Elijah chuckled, setting her back on the ground, his tall form towering over her again.

"I do." She nodded, stretching up to kiss him on the cheek. "I will never forget all that you do for me."

"And I will never forget all the joy and life you bring to me."

Just as the loving couple was staring deeply into each other's eyes, a new song started to play. It was their song.

"L is for the way you look at me." Nat King Cole began to sing, his melodic voice casting a spell over the venue.

Elijah and Evelyn looked at each other and smiled in unison before Elijah grabbed her hand and led her to the dance floor where many other couples were engaged in a waltz the moment the song started. Evelyn placed her hands at Elijah's neck as he snaked his around her waist, pulling her close. She buried her face against his chest and let out a sigh of happiness.

"Love is all that I can give to you." Elijah leaned down and began singing along to the song, his voice sounding like heaven to her ears. "Love is more than just a game for two."

"Two in love can make it." Evelyn joined in with him, their eyes meeting. "Take my heart and please don't break it."

"Love was made for me and you." They both sang, large smiles appearing on their lips as the song reached the music solo.

Elijah spun Evelyn, her small form twirling gracefully and catching the eyes of several people nearby. She was simply stunning. As Elijah reeled her back in, Evelyn leaned back, allowing him to take her into a dip. When he brought her back up, she was giggling, unable to control the happiness inside. It was practically seeping from her.

"I think this is the happiest I've ever seen you." Elijah mused.

"I'm listening to my favorite song, by my favorite artist, with the man that I love. I couldn't be any happier." Evelyn replied, pecking him on the lips. "I love you so much, Elijah Mikaelson."

"I love you too, Evelyn Kate." Elijah replied, pulling her body against his. "I hope this was everything you imagined."

"Oh it was and so much more. Thank you, thank you, thank you."

"You have eternity to thank me." Elijah smiled. "Right now, let's focus on the moment."

"Eternity?" Evelyn paused. "Does that mean you're thinking about turning me?"

"How could I not?" He teased. "You pester me about it practically every day."

"I want to be with you, always and forever."

"I promise you, when you're ready, I will turn you. Then you will be mine, and I yours."

"Always and forever." Evelyn grinned, her eyes twinkling.

"Always and forever, my love."
