Corey and I was sitting on the couch in the living room, watching the television. It was quite early in the morning, around 6 AM. But since neither I or Corey couldn't go back to sleep, we decided to stay up. We didn't speak much with each other however, but since it was the morning and all, I didn't really mind. I liked silence in the morning.

"Hey Sam" Corey suddenly spoke up. Speak of the devil.
"Yes Corey?" I ask, glancing towards him to my left. Corey glanced back at me and had this look of curiosity in his eyes. It almost made me hesitant to know what he wanted to ask or say.

"I overheard your conversation with Colby yesterday" he started. My cheeks immediately burned up, and I bashfully looks down at the floor in front of us. How did he hear it? We were in my room when we spoke to each other. Maybe he was on his way to the toilet and happened to hear us.

"Are you two secretly a thing now?" Corey finished. I blushed heavier and heavier, and Corey waited patiently for me to answer. I became extremely shy, and it was probably extremely noticeable as well. I tried to hide it as well as I could, but I could almost feel Corey's smirk pointed at me.

"I guess" I whispered shyly. Then immediately added:
"But you can't tell anyone!"

Corey sighed, but nodded. Promising to not tell anyone. He smiled happily at me, which put my worry to a pause at least. I managed to smile back at him.
"I'm glad you guys found each other in the end" Corey admitted softly. I nodded, blushing at the thought of what Colby had told me yesterday.

"I don't know if you feel the same way.. but.."

"Sam?" Corey spoke up. I perk and look at him, letting him interrupt my thoughts.
"Ah yeah.. I'm glad that I've found him too" I admitted. Laughing shortly and awkwardly. Corey smiles and nodded, then returned to watch the television. I didn't even know what it was that we were watching. Seemed like some weird comedy action featuring cowboys as clowns? I don't know. I was too tired to care.

My thoughts started to drift astray again, and I remember yesterday like it happened seconds ago.

I was in my room, cleaning it and making sure everything was clean and pretty. I did this one day each month, just because I love it clean. My roommates has called me out of being boring whenever I do, however I never really care about what they say. It's a mere opinion. I was concentrating on reaching something on a shelf, when the door to my room opens up. At the same time, I loose my footing on the spinning chair - and quickly falls to the floor. Instead of feeling the hard, woody floor against my face - I felt warm arms which stopped me from truly reaching the floor.

I slowly open my eyes to see a shocked but relieved Colby looking back at me. I laugh nervously, and Colby just smiles as he help me get back on my feet. I dusted my clothes off and then looked at Colby in a flustered way. Realizing he just saved me from potential danger.

"Thanks" I shyly uttered.
"No problem" he uttered back, smiling confidently.
Then there was an awkward silence between us. One that would be extremely hard to break since it seemed like neither of us had anything to say. However, as the time went on, Colby starts to speak up.

"Oh, I was going to ask you if you'd like to.. uh.." Colby started. My eyes gazed onto him expectantly, patiently waiting for what he was going to ask me. I put my arms behind my back and straightened myself. Looking at my best friend in front of me.

"If you'd like to go do something later" Colby finished. His cheeks suddenly tinted a soft pink. I smiled at him, and nodded. This caused Colby to look up at me, with a look of surprise on his face.

"Why wouldn't I? Quality time with my best friend!" I uttered. The moment I said those words, Colby's happiness faded slightly. His eyes becoming duller and his smile flattering slightly. I noticed these things because I have an obsession on Colby. One that was probably deeper than friendship. I didn't dare to be open about it however. And seeing him hide his unknown pain hurt me so bad.
