Suspect: #001
Last Name: Davis
First Name: Adam
Relationship: BoyfriendIt was good, it was hot.
Adam rolled over in bed, the space next to him was vacant, she wasn't there still. Pots and simmering sounds weren't coming from the kitchen, only silence, it was empty. He hoped it'd all been a dream, he hoped Tuesday was home, he hoped he didn't converse with Ginger, he hoped everything was okay.
Knocking came upon the door to the house, he rolled out of bed and put a gray t-shirt on and trudged to the front door and opened it. A man was standing on his porch, a cowboy, he had a dark brown cowboy hat on and had graying hair but was well-built, masculine. "I'm Detective Godard," said the man and showed his badge. "I'm hear to ask you some questions about your missing girlfriend, how your relationship with her is or was,"
Adam's brows furrowed, "How I relationship is?" He was half asleep, exhausted in fact, all of this hitting him so suddenly was a shock.
"I'll explain, but right now, I want to get down to business with you. Your odds aren't looking too good with the Misses of Tuesday's family."
Godard looked around the house, it was well-kept, clean, paintings of oceans and abstract art hung on the wall. Tuesday's initials on each one, "She's a creative girl?" Asked Godard as Adam stepped into the room.
"Yes, she does a lot of art, she typically hangs them on the wall but recently she hasn't."
"May I see some of her recent artwork?" Requested Godard.
Adam nodded, "Follow me," he said and Godard did. Adam retrieved an old key from a small chest on the mantle of their fireplace, Adam walked to a set of French doors that were white but draped covering the windows, disabling viewing into the room.
"Why is it locked?"
"Tuesday keeps some expensive things in here, she prefers for the doors to be locked when she's not home or not in there working." Adam pushed the door open, a musty smell hit them both, Adam switched on a light and saw her office nice and tidy.
Godard eyed the provocative artwork that hung on the wall, the naked women, some having darker aspects than others. "Uhm, what's with the women?"
"Oh, Tuesday thinks more of the female body, what it can be construed of, in other words, she can't sketch or paint a penis and think much of it."
"Men aren't as poetic as females." Godard huffed. "How would you describe Tuesday? Dark-minded?"
Adam shrugged, "I wouldn't say dark-minded, she just has a different perspective on life."
"Where's her recent artwork?"
Adam looked around her office, "Uhm, maybe in her desk, I'm not exactly sure where she keeps it but I know she keeps it in her office." Adam dug through drawers then retrieved a portfolio and journal. "I haven't seen them but the day before she was in here since she got home from work and didn't go to bed until late."
Godard nodded as he skimmed through photographs of Tuesday herself, "A photographer too," he muttered as he examined the dark haired woman, her green eyes filled with malevolence, matching the dark theme of the pornographic photographs. Adam looked the pictures too, shocked with what he was seeing and dumbfounded by her beauty. "Does she distribute these photos? I'm thinking if she does that'd be a motive for someone to take her."
"No, not that I know of, she keeps them for this portfolio and others. Tuesday has never really been the type to reveal herself to others, unless she was totally comfortable." Adam stated, halfheartedly almost. Thoughts came to his mind, the kind he didn't want to imagine.
"I'd hate to ask this question but do you think she's having an affair? Does she have any guy friends she's particularly close to?"
Adam thought, he thought hard but nothing came of it. "No," Tuesday didn't have many friends, if so, they were girls. "She has two friends, they're both ladies, both ladies are married."
"What about you? Are you having any affairs that she may have figured out?"
Blood rushed to Adam's cheeks, he averted eye contact with the detective, "No," he lied.
Godard cocked an eyebrow, "Are you sure?"
Adam sighed, "I am," he admitted.
"Who is she?"
"Ginger, she's my secretary," confessed Adam. "It wasn't intentional, just yesterday one thing led to another and Tuesday hadn't called, then she didn't cone home."
"Have you ever abused Tuesday?"
"No, never on purpose," Adam retorted. "There was one night, I was extremely drunk and Tuesday was slightly too. At the time, Ginger wasn't a thought in my mind but she still tried to get in between me and Tuesday. Tuesday had gotten angry and made the first swing, then I slapped her across the face, I swore my heart stopped when I saw the look in her eyes. She got angry and left, and I let her, we both needed time to cool down," Adam thought more into the memory. "The next day she came back, after I came back from work, her shirt was torn and she couldn't walk straight still. She just told me her legs hurt and her shirt got caught on a branch."
"Does she take walks in forests?"
Adam nodded.
"Her last whereabouts were in a forest not too far from here," Godard said. "Adam, I'll be honest, you aren't looking to clean, you and Ginger could've motivated Tuesday to leave but as far as you physically doing anything to her, I can't guarantee."
"You'd think I'd kill my own girlfriend? The only person who isn't using me? Who loves -- " Adam's phone rang.
"Put it on speaker when you answer, I don't care who it is."
But it was an unknown number, Adam answered and put the phone on speaker. There was white noise, "Adam?" A female voice said.
"Talk," mouthed Godard.
"Yes?"
"I'm gonna be home soon." It was Tuesday.
"Tuesday? Baby? Where are you?"
Hung up.
Godard's brows furrowed, "These calls are time limited, you can only ask so much, but when we ask where she is, she doesn't answer. Either she's being forced not to or she doesn't want to be found."
"Well then why else would she be sending these messages?"
"To instill to y'all she's okay,"
"But then she'd still call Maryanne to see how she is,"
"Maybe she needs a break from her mom." Godard was trying to look up but everything else about this investigation was looking down.
