Suspect: 001
Last Name: Davis
First Name: Adam
Relationship: BoyfriendThe day had come, he heard the running water of the shower. Confused by it, Adam sat up, saw the side of their bed, unmade, then the clothes on the floor. He didn't want to barge in, he quietly left the bedroom then ran to the front door just to see Tuesday's car sitting out front.
Their bathroom door groaned open and he heard her voice, "Adam?"
Adam turned around and ran to his girlfriend, he scooped her up and held her close. "Tuesday, you're back!" He laid her down on the bed and hugged her.
Struggling to breathe under his hold, Tuesday wiggled her way out of his arms. "Uh huh," she said exhaling.
"Baby, where were you all this time?"
"What do you mean?"
Adam's heart sunk down to his stomach, "Tuesday, baby, you were gone for three days, you were missing."
She just laughed, "No, I wasn't. I was at work and I came home."
"But, we've had a detective looking for you, Tuesday,"
"You have?"
Adam nodded. "We've all been worried sick."
"Oh," all of it started to sink in with the young woman. "But, I came home Friday."
"It's okay, I'm going to call the detective and tell him you came home, be ready for questions."
Tuesday nodded, "Okay. Do you want me to make breakfast?"
"Um, no, I'll do it. Just stay off your feet." Adam grabbed his phone and saw multiple missed calls from Ginger, he checked his voicemail and listened to the explicit messages from her then deleted all of them. The phone dialed Godard's number, then he picked up, "Detective Godard,"
"She's back," Adam said.
"What? Are you being serious?"
"Yes, she's here, she's okay,"
"Let's meet at her parent's house, call her mother and let her know you're coming over, okay?"
"Yes, sir," the detective hung up and Adam returned to their bedroom where Tuesday was. "Do you want to go see your mom?"
Tuesday turned around, "Sure, I'm already dressed." She was dressed in an old 90s band tee, ripped denim jeans and some heels. She always wore heels.
"Okay, I'll get dressed and we'll head over go your mom's." Adam hurriedly.
Tuesday walked to her art room just to realize the door was unlocked, "Did you go through my artwork?" He heard her sweet voice ask.
Adam pulled his t-shirt over his head, "I told you there was a detective, he went through your artwork while he was asking me questions."
No reply. Adam zipped and buttoned his jeans, walked to her room and saw her tidying everything up.
"Why do you have those photos of yourself?"
"I bought the clothes, I have to model them."
"Did you take them yourself?"
"Yes." She answered
Adam just gave a silent nod. The words echoing in the back of his mind, 'Is she having an affair?'. It was almost taunting.
"Adam, are you ready?" Tuesday asked while waving her hand in front of his face.
"Oh, yes. I am." She led the way to her car and got in, he sat in the passenger's seat and smelt something. Something ashy. Burning. He peered over his shoulder to look in the back of her car just to see nothing. Clean as usual. "What's that smell?"
"What smell?" She asked as she fired up the engine to her car.
"It smells like something was being burned."
She just shrugged and sped down the road, her parents' house not being too far from her own.-
Tuesday was the first to get out, Adam watched her saunter towards the porch while he quickly searched her glove box. Inside was a marijuana pipe. Tuesday didn't smoke ever. And under it was a bag filled with the green, then a wallet size picture of a beaver shot of Tuesday. In her own car? This was getting a little suspicious. More than it needed to be.
"Adam?" Tuesday hollered. "Come on."
Adam climbed out of the car and walked up the porch steps with Tuesday then knocked on Mary and Joe's door. Joe was the one who answered, when he saw his daughter his mouth dropped and he squeezed her tightly in a hug.
"Daddy," she exhaled. "I'm not gonna be able to breathe." She giggled.
He let go, "Sorry babygirl, I'm just so happy to see you. Three days felt like forever."
She just nodded.
"Joe?" Maryanne hollered. "Who's at the-" Maryanne gasped and ran to embrace her daughter. "Oh my God! Thank you! She's back!" She breathed as she held her daughter. "Oh Tuesday where did you go?"
"To work?" She answered slightly confused.
"For three days? I hardly think so." Maryanne retorted.
"I remember going to work and I came home."
Maryanne's happiness faded. Tuesday didn't remember. Adam's heart sank further down to his stomach, as did everyone else's. This wasn't like Tuesday.A car door slammed and there was the cowboy, he stood for a second and got an eye full of Tuesday, the victim.
"Good morning detective," Maryanne said.
"Good morning Miss," he said as he started towards the steps. "And you must be Tuesday." Detective Godard said as he neared us.
Tuesday turned around and nodded.
He took his hat off, "Lovely to finally meet you."
She smiled and nodded shyly, something that was in her habit when meeting new people.
"So, shall we?" Detective Godard said as averted his eyes to the door.
Adam was curious as to what else he'd find in Tuesday's car, he started to feel his pockets. "Babe, I think I dropped my phone when I got out of the car, can I have the keys?"
Tuesday looked him up and down at first. "Sure." She said and handed him the keys. She never looked at him like that.
"Thank you." He started for the car slowly and waited for everyone to go inside. Adam opened the passenger door and dug through the glove box, he found nothing but insurance papers for the car. Adam then crawled over the bench seat to the back seats and looked under the seats. Nothing. The only place left, the trunk. Adam climbed out of the car and slammed the doors shut, walked around to the trunk, stuck the key in trunk lock and popped it open. Inside was a jack, a tire and a wrench, all just for changing a tire. Then he saw shopping bags, the bags had no labels. He grabbed one and looked inside just to find new clothes with the tags on. Maybe she got them before she disappeared. Adam scanned the receipts and his theory was correct. Nothing else was really of interest. He closed the trunk and headed for the house just to hear yelling. Screaming.
