Ben groaned, adjusting the backpack strap on his shoulder. The one day that he could actually be out fighting aliens, he was stuck in the one place he hated.

High School.

It was a new school, in a new town and a new state. With all of his "suspicious disappearances in the middle of the night," his parents thought that moving away from home would be "good for a fresh start."  Ben just thinks that they believe he's on drugs.

Gwen's parents sent off Gwen with him, because apparently their minds were set on the same thing with their daughter vanishing.

She wasn't enjoying their experience sharing same house together.

Gwen violently bumped his shoulder, causing Ben to stumble down the hall. "Stop moping, Dweeb." Ben raised his eyebrows, turning towards her.

He knows that Gwen would have to be really mad if she called him by his childhood nickname, and he wasn't blaming her.

Grandpa Max was the one to drive Gwen to Ben's new house with everything loaded in the Rust Bucket. There was a spare bedroom in the house, thankfully. Ben didn't think he could bring himself to share a room with a girl.

Ben looked away from the angered redhead, almost colliding with a muscular blonde who wore a red letterman jacket.

"Watch where you're walking ant," he sneered before strutting between the two. Gwen glared at his back, her face turning red with more anger. "If I see one more jock-"

Ben put a hand on her shoulder. "Calm down, Gwen. You're going to pop a blood vessel."

Gwen huffed, before pulling her schedule out of her back pocket. "I just want to get this year over with. Who do you have first?"

Ben pulled out his own list, eyes scanning over the black ink with a look of disinterest. "Some guy named Mr. Lancer."

Gwen stuffed the list back into her pocket, before looking over the doors in the hall. "We're in the same class then, surprise surprise."

Max had tried to make it better by putting them all in the same classes. It didn't work at all.

Ben rolled his eyes, tapping the rim of the Omnytrix absentmindedly. "Battling aliens sounds more fun than being in Minnesota right now."

That was the place they were in; Amity Park Minnesota.

Gwen huffed, the corners of her lips tugging up slightly. "Tell me about it,"

She turned suddenly to the left, tugging Ben's arm with her and pushing open a classroom door.

A balding teacher sat at his desk, glaring over the students that started to pile up into the small classroom.

Gwen sat in the very back row, Ben sitting at the desk in front of her and dropping his backpack onto the floor carelessly.

The teacher locked beady brown eyes with his, and Ben instantly knew that they weren't going to be on the best of terms.

A teenager plopped down in the chair across him on his right, bags upon bags stacked on his face like he hadn't slept in years.

Messy black hair shielded his blue eyes as he folded his arms on the desk in front of him, and sat his head on them.

He was wearing a white shirt under a pale blue jacket, his hoodie laying lazily on his back as he tried to blink away the drowsiness from his eyes.

Ben felt bad for him, because he remembers the sleepless nights he had to endure while searching for aliens.

A girl with short black hair walked in, ruffling the tired teen's hair affectionately before sitting behind him. A kid wearing a baseball cap and glasses walked in after her, smiling at the kid before taking the seat in front of him.
