Travis' eyes burst open, leading him into consciences. He looks around the room frantically to endure the horrid background; hacked up bodies and blood everywhere. Embracing his fear, he realizes he's wearing a hospital gown.
Having the natural human instinct to find suitable clothing; he thoroughly searches the room for clothes. Eventually a deceased man wearing a black torn shirt and jeans soaking in blood comes into view. Travis unpleased with what needs to be done takes the clothes off the man and dresses himself, leaving the crimson blood of the dead man on his hands.
"What the heck happened here?" Travis wonders in the depths of his mind.
Walking toward the door that exits the room, blood splashes on the floor. Travis places his hand on the rusting door, to reveal what awaits him on the other side. A humanoid creature rests against the wall, with bullet holes in its chest.
Travis feels a hunch to investigate. The dark hallway made it nearly impossible to see. Inching towards the creature it flinches. Travis jumps backwards with his eyes focusing on the thing. Soon he builds up great courage to try once more.
Stepping near the creature it doesn't care to move. Finally he gets close enough to be able to see its face. The monstrosities' face... terrifying, moist, gray, wrinkled, its eye sockets are large while the eyes are small, and the mouth has giant teeth growing over his bottom and top lips.
Suddenly it springs to its knees and a metal substance breaks out of its wrists. It stabs him in the stomach multiple times, memories fills Travis' throbbing head. There's one in particular he worries about.
He laid on the ground, flashes of light exploded around him. He had been shot, with a full clip that is now within his body. This thought dumbfounds Travis.
After the monstrosity rips out the bloody metal and shoves it back in; he begins to cough blood. He upper cuts this creature in the jaw forcing it to fall head first along the wall. Travis has his hand on the wound, but the pain fades and the bleeding stops.
"What?"He whispers in a worrying voice. The wound has already healed.
Travis stares back to the monster; it stands back up. Travis steps back slowly, then the creature lunges a punch toward him but he avoids it. His reflexes are amazing.
Travis readies himself, squaring his feet and clenching his feet.
"Verman are superior!" The thing states.
"That's what you're called, huh? Let me prove you wrong." Travis says this in confidence.
Metal blades grow out of the Vermans wrists again. The Verman looks intensely into Travis' eyes, and a strange thing happens; its guard drops. Travis takes advantage by grabbing the monstrosities' wrists twisting it around, forcing it to puncture his own brain. Green liquid flows out of its skull.
As Travis places his back against the wall, he lets out a sigh of relief. Getting back on his feet he realizes a decision must be made; go left or right down the hall. Travis looks both ways; toward the right was empty darkness, and to the left behind a door resides a creak of light.
He starts to walk to the left when he thinks "What if there are more? I need a weapon."
Travis turns back to the Verman's corpse. The green liquid covers the right hand but the left is pure. He looks at the sharp metal that exposes itself to the world. To see the entire bone mass, Travis had to dig a little in its arm.
The arm has strong tendons; the bottom layer of the arm has a row of tendons that covers the Radius and the Ulna bones. Travis tries to stick his hand within the Vermans arm, and he obtains a grip of all the tendons.
Travis positions his foot on the creatures' hand, and starts to pull the tendons. From his Carpal bones to his Humerus, the tendons were stretching in the moist skin. The hand stretches open, and the tendons suddenly burst out of the arms tissue.
The tendons are no longer connected to the wrist; this effect was exactly what Travis wanted. He pushes the tendons away so he could continue to harvest a weapon. He grabs both sides of the tissue that he has torn open, and rips them apart leaving very little tissue.
Finally he reaches the Radius bone. Travis grips hold of the bone and tears it out of the arm. He stands back up and sees what he has done; made a monsters arm into a pile of soon to rot gore.
One end of the bone's nice and sharp; upon the other side it's very blunt. He carries it cautiously, ready to kill whatever threatens him. Now he's heading to light on the left side of the hallway. The light slowly increases as Travis approaches it, and then he comes to the door.
Fear... the emotion that affects all choices comes into play. He takes a breath and lets it out slowly as he opens the door. His eyes still closed when the door was fully opened; when he opens them he had the perfect view of the land of death and emptiness.
The ground was crusting orange and gray stains of blood scattered for miles. Bones stuck out of the ground, bullet shells and broken guns litters the land. Flowing in the wind is the smell of death and decay. Tears roll down his face; when a single tear hit the ground, it absorbs the salty water like it was the only drop of liquid other than blood, to touch it.
