I leave Goldy while I find a waiter, because I need a drink. Quickly, I manage to get my hands on a champagne glass and I drink it like a man emerging from the desert.

My eyes follow Xavier leading Goldy to the dance floor. With his silver mask and tie and Goldy's silver mask and dress, they look like a match made in heaven. I hate it. But I can't deny it.

I don't reply and instead let my eyes devour her appearance. Only Nessa would be confident enough to show up in a leotard with a see-through, fur-lined dress. The red fox-mask almost blends with her hair and those warm, mischievous eyes underneath is feasting on me just as much. You can count on Nessa to distract you long enough to repair your heart for a little while.

"Ye just goin' to stand there or be a proper lad and actually ask me to dance?" Nessa asks and puts her hands on her hips. Just a few nights ago I was the one grabbing those hips...
