( chapter 3)(worried)
It had been about 5 weeks since I had been brought back home to my parents. Jack had visited me last week and I had felt fine but not today, early this morning in fact I had gotten sick . I was really worried that I could be pregnant. I began to cry. I was way to young to have a baby . I wasn't ready at all, and was scared. But there was some hope that I wasn't pregnant. I called jack on the phone.
I told him that I felt sick and that I had a feeling I may be pregnant . He sighed heavily . " we'll just have to see, I mean I'm sorry your sick and all darlin, but we don't know; all we can do is wait for the time being". He said. " okay". I said quietly . " look when I get off for lunch I'll come over there how's at sound"? He asked. " oh jack you don't have to ruin your lunch break for me." I say. " to bad I'm coming anyway ". He said. " fine" I say. " can I bring Jason or do you want me to come by myself".? He asked. " you can bring Jason if you like". I say.
" you sure"? He asked. " yes jack it's fine". I say . " alright see ya later". He said . " bye". I said. "bye" he said back and hung up the phone. I looked down at my flat stomach. I placed a hand there. " don't take this personally little one in there but I'm really not ready for you yet". I said to my flat stomach. Later Jack and Jason came to the house. I opened the door and they came in and sat down. " hi guys". I said. Jason was around 30 years old, jack had told me a couple of days ago his age . I walked over to jack . " You boys want anything to eat". I ask. " I'm fine darlin' , Jason you want something ?" Jack asked. " naw I'm good I ate earlier". He said. I smiled.
I had turned on the old country music station. Waylon Jennings songs . Many old songs of his that were classics like Amanda, only daddy that'll walk the line, luckenback Texas , and many others. Jack knew every song which made me kind of excited. No person my age respected old country legends as I did. But knowing a guy my age that knew of Waylon made me happy.
