People think making movies are easy.

Write a script, get some actors, find a god damn camera and shoot ya?

Well they aren't.

Not in the slightest.

It takes a whole fucking team of people. Actors, directors, producers, camera men, costume designers, set creators, tech personnel and crew. Not to mention countless hours and time and travel that no one even dares to think about.

It's completely naive to think that movies are bloody easy to make because they aren't. They're insanely hard actually.

But I guess you can't blame people. They go to the theater or lazily purchase something on demand and watch a 2 hour movie and don't think twice about all the blood, sweat, and tears that went into the collection or masterful clips before them. All the countless editing hours, the directors endless commands, and the undeniable amounts of reshooting at pesky locations.

Audiences don't think of that because it doesn't cross their minds. While they're watching the film, they're somewhere else for once; they aren't in their own world but rather whatever world, fabricated or not, the movie is set in. Their sent off into another world so that for that fragment of time they don't have to think about the shit place they're stuck in.

It's an escape for people.

But escapes aren't always easy and , like any fantastic film, are incredulously hard to make, maintain, keep, and cherish.

He became my escape.

And fuck was he anything but easy.
