(Thank you for 3k! I don't know how you all are finding this story, but know, I love you all so fucking much.)
~Drew's POV~
I'm frantic, in the small plane bathroom. Trying to make myself look presentable. I silently thank makeup, to cover my lack of sleep. I managed to get a few hours, but still not the eight hours I need. I was thankful, that my hair was pin straight, I added some dry shampoo.
I slide on the strapless black dress, it's tight around my chest, but flows out above my knees. I shrug on a simple black cardigan, and a pair of black wedges to complete the look. I look in the mirror, I'm nervous. As I should be.
“Okay, Nik, how do I look?” I ask as I step back into the cabin.
“You look stunning Drew, might I ask, who is this boy you are trying to impress?”
“Who said I was trying to impress anyone?” I blush, buckling my seat belt.
“Is it that Dallas boy you told me about?”
I nod, “I think, sort of. I don't know, can't a girl get dressed up?”
He shook his head, chuckling. The pilot, said we were preparing for landing. I gripped the seat, taking a deep breath. Counting the minutes in my head as we finally touched the ground. I glanced to Nik, who was already up, making sure to get the car ready.
As I exited the plane, I had an over-night bag with me, that Hugo, my other security guard, placed in the car. He's not as talkative. Nik says it's because Hugo has gone through some traumatic things in his life. I understand that, Hugo usually only speaks, when spoken too.
I was thankful, that when landing, there weren't any paparazzi. But it makes sense, this was a last minute change thanks to Jessy. I grab Cameron's present, and sit in the car. As Nik takes off through the New York streets.
I lean my head down, and before I knew it, Nik was shaking me awake, telling me we arrived. I don't remember falling asleep, but I am glad I did. I texted Matt, as Nik was checking in with the front desk. Hugo at myside with my bag, and one of his own.
“Why don't you two go and get sleep, you're exhausted.” I spoke to the two of them.
“But your safety-”
“I'll be with my brother, perfectly safe.” I stammer, “get sleep. I promise that I will get some too. But you are about to fall over from exhaustion Nik. I'll be sure to text you when I get to my room safe, and I'll text you when I wake up I promise.”
“Okay, you said you were meeting your friend?”
“Yeah, actually, he's the guy walking towards us right now.” I said, pointing to Matt.
“Alright, I'll be checking on you later. Have a good night.” He said, hesitantly.
I nodded, giving him a quick hug, before walking to Matt. Who was stunned, “it's weird, seeing you in the flesh Drew!” Matt said, “come on. So the stage is all set up from Magcon yesterday. And they're all at tables and when I walk in, they're going to lite the candles. I'll announce that there is a special person to sing Happy Birthday, that's when you walk out, got it?”
“Yep, sounds good to me”
My heart pounded, almost out of my chest. I could hear them as Matt ushered me in a back room, hiding behind a curtain. Slow breaths, I whispered to myself. I clenched the microphone Matt had given to me.
“Before we have cake, Cam needs to blow out his candles, before that happens. We need to sing Happy Birthday. But, you see, somebody is going to help us do that.” I heard Matt announce.
