Part 1

I have always lived with my grandma on her farm ever since I could remember. I've never met my parents or ever heard about them. It was a small town so there wasn't many other kids I could play with. I had one friend, his parents worked on the farm and he came over almost everyday.

"Rosa wake up, Leo is here!"
I sprang up from my bed and ran to the kitchen. When he comes over we always have breakfast that my grandma prepares, fluffy pancakes with eggs and bacon!!
"Good morning Leo!" He was already sat down at the table waiting for breakfast.
"Good morning Rosa" he waved.
"Come sit down, breakfast is ready" I rushed over to the table and took a seat next to him.
"Grandma can you get the maple syrup plzzzzzz!" I showed a toothy smile.
"Of course sweetie" she went to the fridge and got the enormous jar of maple syrup and waddled over to the table.
"Do you guys need anything else?" She smiled softly.
"No, we're ok" we said in unison. She grabbed our plates from the counter and carefully placed them in front of us. Our mouths watered like a dog waiting for a piece of leftover stake after dinner. I moved the syrup next to me and slowly began to drizzle it in spirals over my pancakes.
"Ewww, why do you put so much." he scrunched his face and gagged.
"I like it that way" I turned to him and stuck my tongue out.
"Pig" he mumbled under his breath.
"What did you say!" I smacked him on the arm.
"I'm kidding, I'm kidding!" He giggled and blocked my hand from hitting him again.
"You better be!" I grabbed my fork and cut my pancake into fours.
"Grandma are you going to eat?" I looked over and saw her looking at us sweetly, holding her coffee mug
"No I'm fine darling, how's the food, good?"
Leo raised both his arms in the air "it's the best I've ever had."
"Oh, why thank you Leo" she grinned.
"When you guys are done you can go play outside, I don't need any help today." she got up from her chair and placed her mug in the sink.
"Really, thanks grandma" I sang with a big grin on my face.
We finished our food and grandma took our plates and utensils. "What do you want to play?" He turned to me and thought for a few seconds.
"Let's play hide and seek" he smirked.
"Ok!" I clapped my hands and jumped up and down in my chair.
We got out of our seats and ran out to the flower field.

"Ok, I'll hide and you find me" he had a devilish smirk on his face
"Ok." I shrugged
I turned around and put my hands over my eyes
"10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1!!! Ready or not here I come!!!"
