DESCRIPTION: In which Lance Serrano falls in love a pretty boy and beautiful girl not knowing they're the same genderfluid person.
SUMMARY: Ani'i is happy that the Galra's cruel rule on his planet has finally stopped. Visiting Earth with his family for an alliance of peace, he meets Lance, a paladin of Voltron. The two exchange hellos, but otherwise don't see each other again. At least, that's what Lance thinks. Nelea, a beautiful alien the same species of Ani'i quickly sweeps Lance off his feet just about as quick as Ani'i did. His growing crush on Ani'i doesn't help this. Problem? Lance Serrano is having a bisexual crisis. Even bigger problem? Ani'i and Nelea are the same alien, and Lance has absolutely no idea.
NOTES:
— so i think lance would see ani'i as more of a friend/comrade and he sees nelea as more of a crush bc we stan internalized biphobia
— ani'i/neala should be male then female, but if u want to balance it out that's fine!!
— now lance may be A Stupid but he's not SUPER stupid so he should find out neala/ani'i are the same person maybe a few episodes into S8?
— lance finds out they're the same person bc ani'i calls him 'laney' bc he has trouble pronouncing 'c' and one day neala calls him 'laney' (she doesn't ever address him beforehand) and lance is like. oh. OH
— neala/ani'i does hold it over him bc they don't really look the same when they're different genders (they actually think it's super funny)
— not a slow burn at all bc lance saw neala/ani'i and started having heart palpitations
— this should be lance POV but alternate pov would be funny as hell bc neana/ali'i would be like 'omg lance called me babe twice in two days!! hehe' and lance is like 'I CALLED NEALA AND ALI'I BABE AM I CHEATER'
— also feel free to erase S8 if you want to and just make the whole fic an au
