My whole life, I've been treated gently. My mom was always afraid that she would hurt me, even when she gets drunk all she does is cry about how bad of a mother she is. To be honest nothing really hurts. Doctors even say I'm in good condition for being stage 3, but I feel myself dying. I've felt my body grow weaker every day.

Some days I don't even get out of bed. It's not that I don't want to. I can't. I wish I could be a normal teenager, but sometimes it doesn't work that way. I sighed as I walked up the stairs to my house, twisting the handle and opening the door.

"Mom I'm home- Seriously?" I said pushing up my sunglasses as I walked into the kitchen.

She stopped her giggling as she saw me, hand wrapped around a bottle of vodka. "Parker! My baby you're home!" She said slurring her words. "i missed you so much!" She said getting up and holding my face in her hands. She looks at me with tears in her eyes. "I'm so sorry." She said as she started to cry.

I sighed as I then backed away and went upstairs. That's all she does, drink. I rarely see her sober. I cringed as I walked into my room.

Dull, boring room. Everything about my life was just so boring.

*****

I Shivered as I walked through the cold supermarkets cold doors, walking over to the shopping cart area. Currently it was around seven pm, but if I didn't do the grocery shopping who would? Fortunately my mom actually does work, but as soon as she gets home she drinks, and the only time she ever goes to the store is to get liquor.

I sighed as I walked through the fruit isle and got all the fruit we needed for the next two weeks, along with other healthy foods that I only eat.

Eventually I ended up in the chip section. I grabbed a bag of hot cheeto's. Hot cheetos where one of my favorites-

"Parker?" I heard some one say, depriving me from my thoughts. I turned and saw Kieth.

I gulped. "Uh hi." Currently he was wearing a rainbow sweater, and had wet hair. His ears and face clear of any piercings.

"Hot cheetos?" He said smirking as he turned a grab a bag for himself. When he turned I noticed his shorter part of his hair was shaved and had line designed on it. "I love these." He said with a bright smile.

"Uh me too." I said gripping the handle of my shopping cart.

"You do the grocery shopping?" He said looking at my full cart.

"Yeah, my mom gets busy with all the work she has to do." I lied.

"That's cool, my mom just sends me to the store when she wants snacks." He laughed.

"Yeah I have to go." I said turning around.

"Ah wait-" He said grabbing my arm. "We should hang out. Do you want to come over my house after school tomorrow?"

I bit my lip nervously. "Sure." I said as he let go of my arm and I walked away, my breath heavy. Jesus.

******

"Hey!" Kieth said as he jogged over to me.

"Hi."

"So, I have a car, my house isn't that far away from here though. We can walk if you want." He said cheerfully. Oh god please no more walking. All I want to do is sleep.

"We can drive its easier." I said running my hands through my gray hair. He smiled as he started walking to his car.

"Ah sorry my cars a literal mess." He said as we got into his car. "My cat decided to get into my car and spill my weed kit."

I almost choked on air. "Weed?" I said startled.

"Oh yeah. I'm kinda a stoner." He giggled. "Have you ever gotten high?"

High on meds from the hospital. "Yeah once or twice I have."

He smirked. "Cool, we could later if you wanted to." He said as he started driving to his house.

"Ah its okay." I said pushing up my sun glasses as I just stared at him. How his earring would swing every time he moved his head. Or how is green eyes would glimmer when he would look the other direction.

"So not to be rude or anything, but I noticed you don't really talk to anyone at school." He said looking at me, and then taking a sip of his coffee.

"I guess. Nobody's ever really called me a friend." I said looking out the window.

"You've never had a friend?!?" He said shocked almost spitting out his coffee. I shook my head. He smirked. "Well you have a friend now." He said patting my thigh.

My breath hitched, as I gulped. "Okay."

My first friend.
