"I-" love you too. "Okay, I have to go." (Y/N) picked up her bag and left out the front door of Tom's home, where a car was waiting for her. She rushed, not even catching his eyes and she was in a hurry to get home.

When she got back to her apartment (Y/N) laid down on her bed, mind racing. She couldn't think of anything to calm her mind, so she laid there and thought. She should've been happy, Tom loved her and that was what she had been aiming for it was the next step in her process, she was in the endgame, only she didn't feel the satisfaction like she usually did. Maybe it was because she loved him back, but that was something that couldn't be possible. The reason why she didn't tell Tom that she loved him too was that she couldn't say it out loud. She coudlnt say it out loud because that would make it real, that would make it a thing a problem that she would have to deal with. And if she couldn't deal with it, then that would spell the end of everything she'd worked towards. So she couldn't say it out loud.

(Y/N) decided then that she needed to focus on other things, mainly getting the evidence she needed to convict Tom which meant finding out where he kept the paperwork on his deal with the NYPD. She suspected that it would be hidden somewhere in his office, not in a regular filing cabinet or anything else that was out in the open. It would be somewhere that you wouldn't see it just casually walking into the office. That admittedly would take a long time to find, because his office was extremely large so she would need something to get him out of the office for long enough that she would be able to find the compartment and copy the information, all without Tom seeing it.

Okay, he loves you, take that and run with it.

But first, she had to find a way to excuse the fact that she had run out on him and not said a word since. The next time the two of them saw each other, they were in Tom's office. She had been summoned actually be he wanted her to attend another meeting with him. (Y/N) walked into the room and took a deep breath, it was going to take a lot of wiggle room to get out of this one. "Hello Tom." She said, smiling, knowing that he would be the one to bring it up.

"Hello, Ms. Cross." He nodded to her, and said nothing. "I've requested that you accompany me to a meeting with some partcicularly unsavory characters, so lets get going." He nodded to the set of soldiers in the room, and they began to walk out slowly.

Tom himself stood up, and began to walk out of the room but (Y/N) grabbed his arm. "Tom.."

"I think that's Mr. Holland, thank you." He yanked his arm away from her.

"Tom, come on, please."

"Please what? Forgive you, what, do you want me to come running back into your arms like you didn't run out on me the minute I said something concrete about our relationship? If you didn't want this, all you had to do was say so. Since you want to be professional with each other, I will treat you like one of my employees."

"Tom.. That's not what I." (Y/N) sighed, "I have a hard time, committing to things, okay? I move around a lot and in my line of work-it's just I've never felt something like this before and I got scared okay." (Y/N) said, all of which was true not for Amalia but for (Y/N) herself, that and the fact that she was a CIA Agent sent uncover to take down Tom and his mob. (Y/N) leaned in and whispered in his ear. "Invite me over again, we can have a re-do."

Tom smirked, and grabbed her hand, slowly thumbing his fingers over her knuckles. "Okay, if you say so." Suddenly, his phone buzzed and he turned away from her, to see what it was about. He sighed, and brushes his hands through his hair. "Crap." He gumbled, almost throwing his phone to the ground.

"What?" (Y/N) said plainly.

"Harrison is sick, like coughing up a lung and throwing up your stomach."

"Uh-huh."

"And he watches the stuff here when I'm out-"

(Y/N) smiled, wide and tried to hide it when Tom looked at her. "I can do it." She volunteered, "I can watch things if you need someone too. You trust me, right?" She batted her eyelashes at him, just a little.

"Yes, perfect, I should be back in an hour or less, just keep an eye on things here makes sure no one starts a large fight in the middle of the work area."

"That's happened before?"

"There are a lot of egotistical people here working in what is really a dark wooden box, things get heated from time to time."

"Okay then. Yes sir." She kissed him lightly, "I will keep things under control, you can go."

He kissed her back ont he cheek and smiled as he left the office.

--------

(Y/N) waited twenty minutes before she was sure that Tom was not going to come back, that meant she had four minutes, most likely less before Tom came back and her cover was blown. She started looking in the natural place, behind his desk pulling out every drawer and looking underneath for any buttons and or levers that could open a safe that had the documents in it, but she found nothing. She looked down at her watch again, and walked around the entire office, feeling against the walls for anything else that could lead to what she was looking for but she couldn't feel anything. She paced around for a couple of minutes racking her brain for where it could possibly be. That's when she heard it-Tom's voice. It sounded like it was near the top of the stairs but not the doors meaning she had just minutes before he would come into the office. She ran over to his desk and picked up things on top of it, moving over papers and tape dispensers unitl she picked up a post-it note and found it, a keypad.

"It was interesting to say the least.." A voice laughed, Tom was getting closer to the door.

(Y/N) thought about what possibly the passcode could be, then she thought of it-Harrisons birthday. Not Tom's own which would be easy to guess but one that meant enough to him that he would remember. I read it in a file somewhere, come on.

As the footsteps got closer to the door, she rmemebered it and put it in, hearing a satifying bing! after a couple seconds. SHe smiled, as a door oepened behind her, it was a safe and inside stood a thin pile of papers. (Y/N) pulled the papers out of the safe and spread them out over Tom's desk, pulled out her phones to take pictures of each one, careful to make sure they were easily readable. Just as she finished, the door knob began to shake, signling that Tom was aboiut to open it. She quickly put the papers back in the safe and shutting it before Tom walked in.

"I'm back." he proclaimed, as (Y/N) looked down and put the post-it note back over the keypad.

"Well things are all clear here."

He leaned into her, and brushed his lips against hers, "No fights?"

"Nope." she replied. "It went perfectly."
