College Trip

“huhhh” I just took an deep breath while laying in my bed. I just thought about all the things that been happening in my life, who would know that all these thugs would like me in my 12th grade year. “Camilla… aww sweetie what’s wrong, you should be happy you’re on your way to Harvard” my mom said rubbing my back.

I got up from the bed and look at my mom. “I’m fine mom, I was just thinking” I said “oh, ok well don’t think too hard, I don’t want you to be stress on your way to college” my mom said picking up one of my boxes that says “fragile” and walk out of my room. I turned my head to my night stand and seen my phone, I pick it up and went through my contacts and seen daquan number.

Me- Hey you ready for college 6:57am

Bestie/Do-Do head- YEPPP… are u? 6:58am

Me- Yea, I’m happier that me and you are going to the same school lol 6:58am

Bestie/Do-Do head- Harvard bby lol, I told you me and you will never be separated lmaoo 6:59am

Me- lol just hurry up and pick me up so we can start our college trip lmaoo 7:01am

Bestie/Do-Do head- aight I see you in awhile

Me- ight, ight, ightttt

Bestie/Do-Do head- lol you a trip

        “Camilla” my mom scream out “yes, mom” I said running down stairs “oh hey” I said to Daquan while hugging him. “Ok let’s put your boxes in the car Camilla” my dad said picking up one of my boxes…. I know my dad sad that his little girl leaving. We got done talking and my dad and mom truly love Daquan. “Bye, be safe” My mom and dad said yelling after the car.

        We stop at a gas station because Daquan gas was very low. He paid for his gas outside with his credit card. When he was done he open up his door and said “let’s get some snacks for the road”. We both walk inside the store and got chips, soda, candy etc. Once Daquan paid for our items, we walk outside and I trip mega hard.

        I heard a familiar voice say “so you still clumsy huh?” I look over my shoulder and it was Keyshawn. “Don’t act like you don’t know me hahaha, so what’s up” Keyshawn said. “ummm, nothing on my way to college” I responded. I was very surprise to see him, but I was also surprise that I didn’t miss him. He was hanging out with a bunch of thugs and a bunch of girls that looked like thots. I know I was never a part of that life; I’m never going to be hanging out at no corner store.

        “True, well I’m glad you got accepted to your dream school” Keyshawn said while putting a blunt in his mouth. I started to feel uncomfortable and I guess Daquan notice it. He intertwined our hands and said “come on cam” and led me to the car. I’m not gonna lie but I felt some type of sparks with Daquan when he did that. I guess my mama was right about me and Daquan.

        When we got in the car, Daquan said something that surprised me which was “I’m not gonna lie, but I was always better for you than Keyshawn.” I start to think could this be the start of something new? I took one last look at Keyshawn before Daquan drove off; he was getting high and checking out girls as they walk in the store. Then I took a look at Daquan and he look back at me and said “you deserve more than what is behind you, so keep moving forward Camilla, I got your back.”

        So the answer that everybody wants to know. Can A Thug Really Love A Nerd? Umm… I guess not.
