A Show Of Nature

A conceit saying that a night of rainstorm is like a performance show.

***

I invite you

To a show today,

A magical show

Where the handsome winds

Sweep away the rain

And dance with flashes of thunder,

Sparkling with wonder.

The decorations are beautiful:

Translucent leaves topped with glitter,

The sparkling braches hang in the rain

Like golden chandeliers;

Every leaf glistens,

Reflecting the orange street light

In this mystical night.

The curtains open

With the howling wind,

Dramatic lightning flashes

And the crowd of trees

Rustle with anxiety;

This long awaited show

Is here with the nightglow.

The rain starts falling,

Slanted with the wind,

Kissing the ground;

It's the sweetest sound

You'll ever hear,

More beautiful than an angel's music

Or a poet's limerick.

Lightning flashes,

A moment of blinding brightness;

Thunder screams,

Angry frightening roars;

We've reached the crescendo,

The rain stronger than ever,

The wind deciding the weather.

The trees dance with the artists:

Swaying and twirling,

Twinkling with the thrill

Of this magical mystical night

Where the gray clouds collide

With a clap of delight,

Enjoying the dance tonight.

The trees hold stars in their eyes,

They're twinkling

More beautiful than a starry night.

Let the rain soak you,

Feel it's wrath,

Only then will you know,

Not everything is seen from the window.

Thunder runs across the sky,

Until only brief traces remain,

A faint rumble,

It took out all its anger at once;

And then only the rain.

Just as abruptly it started,

It slows down, fatigued.

And thus the show is over,

The tress drip,

Branches tired after their exotic dance.

One last roaring thunder,

One last flash of lightning,

The applause,

And the crowd disperses.

Wrote this in the rainstorm. Of course, the draft was messy as hell.

Watch nature and watch it closely. Its beauty will sweep you off your feet and leave you quivering, trust me.
