I gripped the rim of the porcelain sink and tried to steady my hands.

“One last time,” I whispered to myself.

One. Last. Time.
This would be the last time.  The last day. Once the time hit 2:00.  I will finally be able to drop this charade.  Only a few more short hours and I can become a new person.

Swallowing shakily, I popped in a mint to rid myself of the acidic taste and steeled my nerves.   I was the master of this school.    The queen bee that everyone suspected me to be.   A model made from what they have labeled me as.    I haven't let them down yet.   Everyone needs a villain to hate but thing people seemed to forget.  No one could play the villain forever.

The bathroom doors slammed shut behind me as I strutted to the current period.  I strolled in like I owned the place and gracefully slid into my chair. I could feel all their gazes on me yet no one said a word.  Not even the teacher. They couldn't when my father controlled the school. Eyes of envy, hate and admiration was normal for me. As common as oxygen.  Only it also included the gut wrenching looks of lust. Whether it was for my status, wealth, popularity or now my body. I seemed immune to it all, to lavish in it even.   But it made me sick. It only proved to me how superficial everyone in this hellhole was, even me. No, me especially.

After that brief moment, the class paused until I was ready before the teacher began again.    I tuned them out.   It wasn't like they were actually teaching anything.  It was the last day of school. They were only telling us the last farewells before the closing ceremony.   Confirming the end of this god forsaken part of my life. High school was a breeze but the things I have done will likely haunt me if I don't rid them from my mind out of guilt.    Yet, I still did them and I would likely do it again if I had to repeat it.   It was expected of me.

Instead of listening to heartfelt goodbyes, I looked at my nails.  Fiddling with them and filing them into perfect semi-circles. I didn't wish to speak a word to any of them.   I left my yearbook on my desk as people went around to sign them but I didn't partake myself. As if anyone would expect me to sign it.  I didn't want them orgasming over it. Hoarding it over other people or sneering at me with their friends behind my back.
I continuously peeked at the clock, counting down the seconds before lunch could begin and the true final senior event would begin.

The exhaustingly familiar bell rang for lunch and as the masses rushed out.  I took my time gathering my things with my long, manicured fingers. "Lara!" I heard my name being called from the doorway.    I slid the bag's strap onto my shoulder and turned to see the two girls standing at the entrance.  Wearing sickly bright colours, brand named and showing as much skin as ethically allowed. Makeup slapped on professionally and hair done as if they were planning to model later.
"Did you hear about Stephanie?  The bitch who was two timing Carter.  Came crying to take her back," the dyed blonde exclaimed, immediately jumping into the recent gossip news.     I mentally sighed, preparing myself for one last bout of mind numbing drama.

Strolling over to them, we exited and headed towards the cafeteria while they continued chatting about the circling gossip.  "Its utterly disgusting. She hasn't a lick of pride," I muttered, rolling my eyes as we walked past the line, gathering our meal and cut in line to pay first.   No word of compliant aside from nasty glares that were shot as soon as our backs were turned. As soon as we paid, we headed to our usual table. However, brunette ceased my advancement by a sudden topic change.

"Hey.  Isn't that the fucking dyke?” she voiced, her tone dripping in disgust.   I stopped and glanced over to see who she was talking about. The loner girl we've been picking on mercilessly all year.  I was shocked she even had the guts to show her face in this place after the year she's been through. I wouldn't have been able to.
