Chapter Five

Lyth's POV

I felt someone looking right at me and within seconds I knew it was Mitch. Bad thing is, I can't remember him. I know he is my ex and I know he cheated on me but I have no clue about anything else. I lost a lot of memory a few years back.

-flash back-

After sky and I left we decided to do something with our lives. Sky decided to do an online collage thing and I decided to head into the military. The U.S Marines to be exact. After I left I wrote to sky to let her know how I'm doing. She seemed sad after I left but happy I was doing something with my life.

"Hi" a male voice towered over me. I looked up to see a soldier I never met. Probably because I'm knew here and I didn't get a chance to meet anyone. "Hello the names Lyth or as everyone else calls me flames" I introduced myself. "Lucian Scott Sorcerer" he smiled. Something about his name made me wonder who this guy really was.

"So how long do you think you'll live before something bad happens" he asked sitting down next to me. He looked over my shoulder and read my letter I was writing to sky. "Who you writing to" he asked. "My friend, her names skylar" I stated and looked at him. For some reason he had purple eyes.

I only know one person with those eye colors but I thought they were contacts. I shrugged it off and he didn't notice me looking at him. "So what can I call you sense we might have to use our last name during battle" I quizzed. "Eh Scott's good" he referred to his middle name. I gave him a nod of understand meant.

-skip two years-

We were sent to battle and Lucian was with me through the whole time. We save each other's butts while being here. If it wasn't for me he might of lost his ability to walk. He knows about my magic side but not the dragon side yet. He saved me plenty of times too.

We became good friends and we made some along the way but they died in battle but we stayed together because we thought it would be better if we saved each other. Over time he told me about his older brother who is friends with some guys back in LA. I told him about my life as well, I told him about the orphanage and the bad things that happen to me.

We both went through rough shit while growing up but we look back at it and smile because that what brought us here. "GET UP YOU SISSIES WAR WAITS FOR NO ONE" sarge yelled. "Yea well neither does the enemy" I muttered

"MARINE = My Ass Really Is Navy Equipment" Lucian said loud enough for others to hear and everyone chuckled as a response. "Repeat that sorcerer" "SIR, YES, SIR MARINE = My Ass Really Is Navy Equipment SIR" he went into a marine stance so he can yell it properly.

"You better hope you ass is navy equipment sorcerer or else you'll die out there" the sarge said without hesitation. After Lucian's little out burst we were on our way to battle. I had my guard up and the sun was shining. Great they can see us if we make a wrong move. (Note sarcasm).

We separated to cover more ground but I felt something was off. Soon we were bombed. Time slowed down and I saw that if I didn't do anything we both would die. I quickly went dragon and used my wings as protection agents the blast but it hit me hard. Soon I was out cold.

I woke up in a camouflaged room, I looked around a bit to see Lucian next to me. "Your awake" he cried out hugging me. "Yo can it I've been asleep for got knows how long" I covered my ears. "Sorry but I can't help it and we are getting sent home to our families because they don't want us here anymore" Lucian said softly. "That's good but that means I won't be able to see you" I sadly stated.

"Hey we did good and you saved my life and I promise your dragon ability thing is kept a secret" he smiled. I smiled back and took off my dog tag and handed it to him. "To remember me bye." He took off his and handed it to me "forever and always." I grinned but something wasn't right.

Soon a medic came in asked who we need to pick us up. I simply stated my friend sky and Lucian asked for his brother. He left about an hour before I did but I was glad to be in a car with my best friend. "So what happened" sky asked me. "Bombed that's why I'm back and for some reason I can't remember a few people" I muttered the last part. I couldn't remember some friends.

I didn't mind it too much but it bugged me for a while until I forgot about it completely.

-end of long flash back-

My body and mind brought itself back onto reality. I looked around to see that my dad was about to kiss the bride. So I missed a lot while I spaced out, well that's time I'll never get back. I sighed but instantly clapped and cheered as Adam kissed Alessa. Well at least I brought myself back to the important part.
