"Close your eyes. I'm going to finish this story." Ruby whispers before she kisses him
It was like the world has spiraled out of control and everything has been rearranged perfectly in sync
But Ruby had to let Liam go, or rather, force him to go
Carefully she erased herself from his memories, leaving no trace
"I love you" she whispered before pulling away
Liam kept his eyes closed, letting everything sink in and when he oppened them Cate had slipped into the room
"Who are you?" he asked the two of them and Ruby sighed in relief
"The League." Ruby replied "If you feel well enough, you can go."
Recognition flickered in his eyes and Ruby's heart ached
'Play along' she mouthed
"You're the League and you're just letting me go?" Liam asked, getting the message
"Supplies, money, new ID." Cate said handing him a backpack "Here you go."
"I don't want anything from you." he spat and turned to Ruby "You're what, 16? You should know better than to work for the League"
"Go" Ruby siad "Before we change our minds."
Liam looked shocked but nodded and Ruby showed him out
"Liam, Just be careful." Ruby said
He looked confused and Ruby wondered if he actually remembered her
"You too" he said and walked out, down the long pathway where he came to a T-junction
He turned right but not before looking back at Ruby, who was watching through the window
She ran to him and he ran towards her and as they came together they hugged each other clinging to one another for dear life
"I'll find you, but you have to go" Ruby said through tears
"I could never forget you Ruby" Liam said, tears rolling down his face "I love you"
"I love you Liam" Ruby said "goodbye"
"This isn't goodbye Ruby, more like see you soon" Liam said and kissed her forehead "I meant what I said, be careful" he turned and ran down the road
Ruby took a deep breath, she had to be strong, she walked back inside and shut the door
"We're ready for you." Cate said
Its time to face the music Ruby thinks and follows Cate down the hall

When Liam is far enough from the league he takes a break from running and checks the context of his backpack, attached was the present ruby got for her tenth birthday
