chapter 3

As soon as they reached the hotel, mahir went to the haveli to sort out some work while bela laid on the bed thinking about how tonight mahir would know everything and he would probably hate her. bela laid there for a while when she realised that the sun had begun to set and her husband was still not home. just then, as if on cue, mahir entered the room and when he saw bela sitting on the bed with her legs up, he went and laid his head in her lap. bela smiled at him and began to gently comb her fingers in his hair.

after some time, bela spoke,"mahir ji i have something really important that i want to tell you."

"what is it bela?"

"i ... not here. can we go outside?"bela asked before her nerves got the better of her and she chickened out of telling him the truth.

mahir nodded and she took him to the shiv mandir. once they were there, the words flew from her mouth and she began to tell him everything, her being a naagin, about vikrant and his betrayal, about her mother who was dead(or so bela thought, but we all know that it isn't true), about the boys trying to force themselves on her and her coming to take revenge, and lastly about how she fell in love with him. she showed mahir her naagin form, where she turned half snake, half human to make him believe her. tears began to flow from her eyes as mahir just looked at her in shock.

"why did you hide all of this from me bela?"mahir asked, tears forming in his eyes.

"i..i wanted to tell you but then i don't know how yuvraj came back to life and you were so busy with him that i didn't get the time to tell you."

"i don't know what or why or when but all i know is that i love you and i accept you as you are."mahir said in a tender voice.

"but how can you not hate me, i killed your brother."bela was shocked as out of all the reactions she had expected, acceptation was not one of them.

"i know and what you did was wrong bela. what they did to you was wrong but you could have got justice legally and not just go on killing them."

"i know it was wrong, mahir ji but i had no choice. i thought they killed him and i promise i won't kill anyone as i now know that it was all for nothing."

"that's all i ask bela."mahir replied.

mahir wrapped bela up in his arms and bela felt content to stay in his arms forever.

they both knew that they had a lot of things to figure out, but they knew that their love for each other was eternal and they would overcome every obstacle before them one by one.

mahir then asked her,"do you still love vikrant?"

"it took me sometime to figure it out but i realised that i never loved him and that our relationship was just him using me to get the naagmani."

mahir nodded and then began questioning her."so you would live eternally while i would die."it was a statement rather than a question.

"you could become a naag if you want but if you don't then i will live by your side forever, if you would have me."as soon as she finished saying that, mahir pulled her into a hug and he said,"i would never want you to leave your everything for me bela. i love you."

once they reached their room, both of them just laid on the bed thinking about their future.bela wanted their relationship to last forever while mahir really wanted to punch his brothers and friends, espicially yuvraj.

mahir's 27th birthday was in 2 days and none of them knew the surprises it would bring in their lives as they slept on, unaware....
