Clint's POV
We saw the rest of the show. It was good, but I hated sitting here while my families murderer is in front of me. He was teasing me with it, too. He would look at me with an evil smirk on his face, knowing I can't do anything with people around.
I was so focused on ways that I could kill him that I didn't realize Peter was trying to get my attention.
"Clint, you in there?" He giggled.
"-Yeah, sorry. I was deep in thought. What do ya need?" I asked.
"I can get us some food and candy, if you're hungry." He asked once more.
"I'll go get it, I know you're enjoying this show. What do ya want?" I looked at Peter, he was slowly tinting red on his cheeks.
"Cotton candy and some popcorn would be great, if you don't mind." He was still really shy and kind whenever he wanted something.
I told him I'll be back, then left. I walked out and saw no one around. No workers and no visitors. It was like a ghost town. I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion, until something clicked. He's killing people. He's killing them similar to how he killed my family.
We thought he was just another circus passing through town, the same town that our circus was in. They set up for the night. I didn't want to see their act, but the others wanted to see their competitors in action. I was the only one who didn't go.I went sightseeing, instead. I believe he walked my family back to our tent and murdered them in their own home, in my home.
I took some cotton candy and popcorn. I didn't have to use money, there was no one there so no one could call me out for stealing. I took advantage of that and grabbed what I could. I stuck them in my car running back to the tent, so I can get the candy to Peter. It was as if I was young again, getting by by stealing my way through life.
I walked in the tent and froze. Everyone that was watching the act was murdered. Bodies was littered with blood covering everything. I looked at the tight rope and saw Peter trying to balance himself. The ringleader was trying to get to him.
I ran up the latter to retrieve Peter. He couldn't move, unless he wanted to fall. As soon as I got to the top, the ringleader swung at Peter and he fell. Before I could even think, I dived for him. I shocked the ringleader. I grabbed Peter, before we hit the ground, and pulled him into my chest. My back hit the ground, hard. Peter was safe, he used my chest as a cushion.
He scrambled to his feet, as I groaned in pain. I believe I broke some of my bones.
"Non sense, we'll fix it for you." Lust called out. Within minutes, my back was fixed. It was no longer broken or in pain.
"A-are you okay?" Peter was hyperventilating, slowly.
I sat up and pulled him in a hug. "I'm fine, just calm down. Take deep breaths, please. Once you think you're fine, I'll let ya help me beat the ringleader." I calmed him down a little bit.
I was fighting the ringleader. It was pretty easy, if I'm being honest. I was angry that he would hurt Peter. I raged and all I could see was red. Peter had to pull me off of him. I'm so glad I didn't scare Peter, but I guess he knew why I would be angry.
We walked back to the car, after getting cleaned. Of course we still had blood on our clothes, but we were all smiles and jokes in the car. We ate loads of candy, while I drove back to the tower.
Once I cut the car off, Peter looked at me, trying find what to say. "Thanks so much. This really means so much to me."
"It's no problem. You deserve the best eighteenth birthday ever! Any last wishes ya have before we head in?" A smile spread on my face.
