Billie. It was 3 am and I hadn't been home yet. I couldn't, not since jack had made his presence known to my father.
He risked getting hurt just to help me out of that toxic environment, I felt like I owed him something in return.
I went to the one spot where I knew he'd be. When we texted, he always told me about this hill he'd drive up to with the boys when they got a break where they'd mess around and he'd just stare up at the stars. That's what I loved most about him, when things were hectic he'd look to the stars for peace.
And just as I thought, there he was. Laying down in the trunk of his truck, looking up at the sky.
"I don't know why but I feel like you'd be an amazing astronaut." I joked, looking down at him.
He looked up and smiled, "then instead of Michigan, I can take you to Jupiter." He shrugged.
I chuckled and walked around the side of the truck to sit next to him. "I'm sorry." I told him, laying my head on his shoulder.
"For what?" He asked, wrapping his arms around me.
"For my dad, and risking your safety. I shouldn't have called you, I'm sorry." I confessed.
"B, none of that was your fault." He sat up and turned back to look at me. "If anything, it was me not wanting you to be hurt. Why can't you just accept the fact that I want the best for you?" He exhaled. I didn't know what to say after that, what could I even say?
"Jack, I," But without warning, Jack grabbed my face and pulled it to his, our lips instantly connecting. Somehow, his hand found its way to my thigh and he lightly squeezed it making me gasp and jump back.
"W-What? Did I do something wrong?" He panicked.
"No, I just," I sighed, "I don't do love triangles, okay, I dont want to do this back and forth with you, jack."
"Back and forth?" He placed a hand on the opposite leg this time, and gently pulled my face so that I was staring at him. "Billie, I want you."
His words left me speechless. I couldn't believe that after only a few months of talking, I was falling madly in love with this man with every passing day.
Suddenly, we heard a car engine pull up and turn off, "There you are, jack, we've been looking everywhere, i knew you'd be here!" They exclaimed before stopping abruptly, "What's going on?" Gabbie asked.
I scoffed and swatted jacks hand off of my face, "Ah, so your 'secret' place is pretty known then, huh?" I shook my head, pushing myself off of the car.
"Jack?" Gabbie's soft voice called out in disbelief.
"Billie, you've got it all wrong!" He called out to me, but I didn't care to turn around. Of course, I was grateful for him for helping me out of my situation but I wasn't gonna let him treat me like some groupie either. He was lying to Gabbie or me, and either way, that wasn't right.
