- A person who tells lies -
~Jasper's POV~
I wonder why she's not responding to anything I'm saying. Is it because of the nickname? I mean I don't think it is because nicknames don't usually mean that much, never mind I take that back they do have a substantial meaning.
"Phoenix, are you okay?" she just kept on staring into the distance without responding to my questions.
"Phoenix?" She looked dead into my eyes and I saw the fear and sadness in her eye that wasn't covered by her eyepatch.
"Please just leave me alone," she whimpered under her breath. In that moment I knew that I must have struck a memory that probably shouldn't have been reopened. Like I put salt in the wound. I felt so sad, but it wasn't pity it was like a connection that I felt with her. I remember the days when I wouldn't leave my room because I was scared of my foster parents, they used to beat me and make sure that I didn't say anything to other people. I was supposed to be this good little child who kept his mouth shut. I couldn't survive like that for long. So I jumped from foster home to foster home. Until finally a really rich couple decided that they wanted to adopt a child and they adopted me.
"Phoenix if you want to tell me what's wrong you can, but you don't have to if you don't want to."
"I just want you to leave me alone and go away, please don't you understand I need to be alone."
"School is about to start soon though, don't you think that you should at least let me walk you to class?"
"I guess..."
"Alright, then let's go,"
"okay"
I took her hand and we started walking towards the school.
"what's your first period?"
"AP Calculus"
I stared at her with complete and udder awe. I didn't know that she was in the same first period as me. I guess I never truly look around me, I just focus on my grades. My parents always had high expectations of me. But, I didn't mind because they gave me a life full of privilege, that I didn't even think I deserved.
"Yeah it's the same first period as you," she said looking slightly annoyed and offended.
"It's not that I don't think that you're smart anything, I just didn't expect that a sophomore could have gotten in AP calc. "
"yeah whatever, I don't really care,"
Soon we arrived in the classroom. She walked towards one of the guys in the class. I don't know why, but I felt a surge of electricity when they started talking.

~Trentin's POV~
""Hey Phoenix,"
"Wassap Trentina?"
"Oh my God, please not this again,"
"Lighten up dude, I was just messing with you" She comments with amusement dancing in her eyes.
"Whatever," I say while lightly laughing. I look up at the door to see who she arrived with. And my yes are met with one of the most popular guys in the whole school. I glare at him, because I don't know what he did to hurt her but, he did do something. I saw the sadness flicker in her eyes in between the moments that we were laughing. Whatever he did made her almost as sad as when she lost her dad and her mom started hooking up with random dudes.
