Chapter 11

After another grueling day of saving people, I have to pack my stuff and get ready for Lamplight.

Billy swings into my window. "Great work today Kat. How do you like being the newest superhero?" He asks. "I like it." I smile. "I'm glad. Now what do you need help with?" He asks again. I put a suitcase on the bed. "Packing for Equifest." I tell him. He groans.

"Okay I'll pack your costume." He says. "Good." I smile.

I pull out both pairs of white breeches and set them in there. Then I take my show coat and my show shirt and pack those too. I set my boots in there and add all of my practice gear.

I pack my clothes next. "Hey guess what?" Billy asks. "What?" I smile. I have a meet and greet next week so I'll be able to watch you!" He smiles. I squeak and hug him. "And I also came with because what if you get called on the job? You need your mission control." He smiles proudly. I laugh at him.

"The Bionic Kat is- crap." I sigh as Billy's watch beeps. "Suit up." He winces. I give him a blank stare and groan. "I hate you." I sigh. "It's a 5 alarm fire and a little kid went inside to get his bunnies." He says. "I'll get ready now." I exclaim, running to the bathroom.

I get the black suit on, put the cat ears on, and adjust my whiskers. I teleport to the scene, where I super speed the fire out. Then I run inside and get the little kid and his bunnies. "Here you go." I say to the crowd. The boy runs to his mother. Everyone cheers as I teleport away.

I land in my room and change before anyone can see. Billy walks back in with a container of greek yoghurt (A/N: Is that how they spell it in Europe??) . "Uh Billy?" I ask. He stops. "What?" He asks. I nod to the yoghurt. "I was hungry." He shrugs and plops down on my bed.

"Weirdo." I mutter and finish off my suitcase. "Alright take your yogurt and go. I'll see you at Lamplight." I smile. "See you eventually." He smiles and walks out with his giant container of Fage.

I open the truck door and say hello to the beautiful showgrounds. "Watch out world! Kat and Zoe are here to clean house!" Zoe shouts. I blush and we head to the trailer to unload. "Okay babe." I say to Louie. He happily walks off of the trailer. There is a bunch of excitement as I bring my stinky Zebra to his stall.

I help unload the rest of our horses and we work on the trunks. "Who packed this trunk?" I groan. "My mom did!" Zoe whines. I don't engage my super strength. I don't need even more attention being that there is a crowd by my zebra.

I get up on the step ladder and staple the drape to the stall. Amanda helps me with the sign and we are all good. "Alrighty. Let's go school the horses!" She smiles. "We're going to let your guy settle down a little so you are going to ride Jinxx. Tony is getting him ready." Amanda nods to the little dappled gray pony.

I almost squeak at how cute he is, but retrieve my gear from the truck.

Pretty soon Zo and I are walking up to the ring. I smile up at her, being that she's 4 hands taller than my 12 hand ride.

"Let's do this." I laugh. I start trotting Jinxx. He lets out a baby whinny and keeps trucking. He keeps carrying on so I wonder what all the fuss is. A little white pony that looks all to familiar. Domino?

And a fat little POA to go along. With identical riders I know what's going on. "Kat?" Madelyn asks. "It's Kat!" Mary exclaims. "Hey girls!" I grin, slowing to a walk. "Nice ride!" Madelyn teases. I roll my eyes. "Don't you know? It's my new Junior Hunter! The said he was a small and turns out he was a small pony instead!" I joke. They start laughing. "I'll believe anything with you and that crazy Zebra, that and you got adopted by One Direction!" Mary exclaims. I just laugh.

"KAT START TROTTING THAT PONY!" Amanda shouts. "Sorry. I have to go. We're in the farthest tent if you want to say hi!" I smile and they say goodbye.

15 minutes later I've got Jinxx in a canter. He canters and let's out a sudden buck. "Jinxx!" I giggle and keep cantering. He bucks again. "SPANK HIM!" Amanda yells. I give him a slap on his butt.

She has me do a few flying changes, then walk. "Easy baby!" I smile. "Alright jump him over this vertical!" She exclaims. I pop him over it. He's a small working pony so we go as high as 2'3".

She has us walk and head back up. "Ready for the zebra?" She asks. I smile and nod.

After a successful ride on crazy pony, i head up to the stalls. "Oh my god. Okay. Uh... I'll see if I have a rider. I hope she's feeling okay. Okay. Goodbye." Amanda says and hangs up.

"Hey Kat how'd you like to show small ponies on Wednesday?" Amanda asks. "Um. Okay?" I smile. "Perfect. Maya broke her arm falling down the stairs." She says and walks away. I look at her funny and call Liam.

"So change of plans." I say. "What is that?" He asks. "I'm also showing a pony on Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday. The girl is like 9 and she broke her arm and she's a huge fan and PLEEEAAASSEE." I explain. "Alright. Is she coming out to the show?" He asks.

"I'll ask. But Right now Tony is waiting on me with Louie." I tell him, looking on to the zebra. "OW!" Tony shrieks, snapping Louie's reins. "Bye Love." Liam says and hangs up.

I go to rescue Tony. "Did he get you?" I ask. "Yes." He says grimly, holding up a bloody finger. "Well don't just stand there! Go get a band aid and a tetanus shot! I'll cover for you." I smile. He nods and thanks me.

"Amanda Tony got chomped so he might be a while." I tell her. "Okay." She winces when she sees him dabbing a paper towel to the wound. "I'll uh be in the ring, giving Lous a lecture." I tell her. She nods approvingly.

I lead him up to the mounting block and hop on, doing the girth as we walk up. "Look you ratfink. You can't just bite someone if you don't like them. I could get sued! So just be on your best behavior. We want to give a good first impression." I explain. He makes his cute little squeaks.

"Kat hurry up and trot! Zoe's driving Tony to the hospital." Amanda yells. I shake my head and close my lower leg.
