Chapter six
The week goes by so fast it's already Friday evening. Victoria is getting ready to go meet with James. "I'm so excited to meet his family; things are going so fast but it feels like it's the right thing to do." Victoria opens up her closet to see her choices just as she is about to get ready she hears the doorbell.
She wraps her robe around her and continues to go answer the door. She looks down to see a package on the floor. "To my love" she unwraps it and it's a beautiful midlength strapless off the shoulder red dress.
"Oh my gosh this is gorgeous!" She messages James.
"Thank you... for the dress it's beautiful."
He replies, "you're welcome, hope to see you in it tonight."
Victoria slips on the dress with her black heels and a diamond necklace. "Now I feel good."
30 minutes later James arrives to pick her up
. She hears the doorbell ring and hurry's to answer; "my god- you look amazing... maybe we should just skip the wedding and go straight to dessert." He says giving you a playful grin.
"I don't think so; I'm actually excited to meet your family, nervous-yes but I can't wait." You say giving him a peck on the lips. You grab your purse and head into the car with James.
Victoria can't help but sit back and enjoy the ride, it's silent in the car but not the awkward silence, more of a relaxed sweet silence.
You arrive at the hall and its beautiful; blue and silver décor beautiful centerpieces of glass vases with diamonds inside and blue flowers sticking out.
You see the bride rushing towards James with a bright smile on her face.
"JAMES!" She wraps her arms around him and gives him a big hug. "Good thing this is his cousin" you think to yourself. James speaks,
"Antonette it's great to see you; congrats on everything you deserve it cuz!" "This is my date, Victoria."
"It's a pleasure to meet you, your wedding is beautiful; you look amazing." Victoria says to Antonette.
"Thank you so much. My cousin never comes around to these family events anymore, so he being here must mean he really was excited to show you off!" Antonette says giggling. "I'm off to find my husband now!"
James smiles at you and you both start walking to meet his parents. You feel nervous, you haven't had to go through this procedure in a very long time; so this, this is an important moment for you.
"Victoria, I would like you to meet my parents, Juliet and Robert. Mom, dad this is Victoria." His mother face lights up and his father smiles slightly, the mother speaks, "Oh darling it's so lovely to meet you!" "Pleasure to meet you Victoria," his father says.
"It's great to meet you two, you have a lovely family; thank you so much for inviting me."
"of course dear," his mother says.
"Well James your father and I have to attend to the other guest and say our hellos so we will catch up with you later" she whispers in his ear, "Shes beautiful James."
You're able to hear and can't help but allow a small smile to overcome your face.
As you say your good byes to his parents, you finally get the chance to sit down with James and eat some dinner. You get choices of different entrees to choose from, fish, chicken, or Vegetables. You choose the chicken and you both enjoy your meal; a short time later James extends his hand, "Dance with me."
You smile and rise up out of your chair as you place your hand in his. As you both are on the dance floor with one hand in his, the other on his arm, his on your lower back; you lean down and lay on his chest for a little. His smell is so mesmerizing. Fresh, strong, clean.
You take it in and he starts to sing in a low voice, "I will love you with everything I have... even when our days are long and gray." You look up at him and immediately the eye contact between you two is so strong.
You give him a strong hungry kiss that seemed needed for in that moment.
A kiss; the touch of two lips pressed together. Such a simple gesture yet so powerful. The power our kisses have, and how meaningful they can be is breathtaking. Yes breathtaking that is what happens when I kiss you. James, my love... this is the kiss the love I've needed for a very long time.
