chapter 11.5 : the behir love and hate

At the beach , bela tells mahir that tomorrow they are going to meet bela 's mother. Bela asks mahir , " mahir tmr you are going to meet my parents , when are you going to show your parents to me " . Mahir says " how can i show you something which i do not have bela ". Bela gets teary eyed.

Bela :

what mahir what happened to your parents ? Are they dead ?

Mahir :

nope they are divorced . It happened when i was very young. My dad cheated on my mom and they got divorced. My mom raised me single handedly. She is a strong woman , like you . That is what interested me about you at the first place that you are very independent yet you give value to our customs and traditions . Few years ago when i was in school she passed away and i did not want to live with my dad . My stepmom was a kind woman who was sympathetic towards me but she could never be my mom. Then i went away from the house and got a part time job to support my education and got a degree and a job. Vishaka 's parents were the ones who supported me financially and mentally throughout my life .

That is why she is very close to me .

Hearing that last sentence bela tight smile shaped itself into a frown. " ok let us not talk about that " bela changed the topic and asked mahir " how many kids do you want ? " . Mahir smiled . " what kind of a random question is that " he asked. " just answer me " she snapped . " 8 " he said . " what " she asked in shock . " aat bache ke baad mei mar jaungi " before she could finish he last word , mahir cupped her mouth with his . " never ever say that again , until i live on this earth you shall be with me " he exclaimed . " itna pyaar per kyun" , bela asks . " pata nehi mein toh woh ladkon mein hu jo ladkiyon ko nehi dekhta hai " , mahir said .

bela : " matlab hamare meeting se pehle tum gay ho ? "

mahir : are baba nehi yaar muje ladkiyon se bahut allergy hota tha lekin pata nehi kaise tumhe dekhkar muje itna pyaar aa gaya .

bela ( throwing her hair onto mahir's face ) : kaun muje resist kar saktha hai , mein toh queen hoon , mahir ke dil ke kingdom ka

mahir chuckles and smirks . bela also smiles . bela asks mahir about vishaka .

bela : mahir how long do you know vishaka for ?

mahir : nearly 10 years but why ?

bela : nothing , so you guys are very close right ?

mahir ( while loosening his grip on bela 's waist ) : haan bela lekin abhi hamare conversation mein vishaka ki kya zaroorat hai ?

bela : nahi mahir sirf pooch rahi thi , i was just asking

mahir : bela are you jealous ?

bela : jealous mein , why would i be jealous . You guys are best friends and are also colleagues who work on the same show , that is why you guys are soo close and i respect that but ...

mahir : but what ?

bela ( getting up walking towards the water ) : why did you have to propose to her on radio in front of so many listeners ?

mahir : bela , see it was a dare from one of our listeners .

bela : why would someone give you such a dare when you guys do not give hints about a secret relationship ? are you cheating on me ?

mahir ( shouting ): bela it is because these people have nothing better to do i their lives . Doh log friends nehi reh sakte iss media meh aur ham dono isi keh vajah se ek dosre ko " propose " karna pada. And bela , i thought you were the only person whom i do not have to explain my honesty to but i seem to have no other choice bela .

saying this mahir walks out that place leaving bela flabbergasted . Mahir has never been so loud with her . He was very hurt by her comment . But bela deserved her explanation . She was just sad that he had proposed to another woman and did not bother to tell her about it . After all she could not see the love of her life saying i love you to another woman . bela had tears rolling down her cheeks . She had not expect that mahir would be triggered by her simple question.

mahir on the other hand calmed down . He was remorseful for walking out on bela on the day he proposed marriage to her . She had all the rights to question him or he should have given all the rights to question him . He had been guilty of doing such a big mistake . He went back home and had no mood to eat at all . He laid on his bed but sleep was far far away . He figured out what the right thing to do now was .

on the other side , bela rushed home with tears gushing out of her eyes . She ran to her room to avoid her mother seeing her in tears . She cried throughout the night and reflected on her day. She wiped her tears and said " muje kyun rona hai maine kuch galat nehi kiya " and and forced herself to sleep unwillingly .
