Bucky Barnes x Reader

"(Y/N)" Tony shouted "Could you give me a hand?"  I walked over to his area in the lab and helped him with what he needed me to do. You see I work for the Avengers ever since Tony needed help with engineering, mechanics and science and need a person to help him with all of that and could go out in the field too. So, they found out about me, I don't know how but I'm pretty sure I might have a clue cough Nick Fury cough cough. I'm grateful though, it's the kind of job I was looking for and I live at the Avengers Tower so I can always be there to help Tony and now the rest of the Avengers. After being here for 5 years I've been able to get to know everyone and build an amazing friendship with every individual person. If there is one person I'm closest to, it's Steve. We were able to click straight away and we had a lot in common, with one big, common, factor - we had both lost a very close friend. I had lost (B/F/N) and he had lost a guy called Bucky. James Barnes. Apparently he was loyal and everything Steve could ever ask for, they were very close I could tell. But apparently he was also attractive and I saw pictures. He was, but I'd never admit that to Steve although he teases me about it every time he is mentioned. I really wish I could of met him, he seemed really... my type.
Whilst I was busy daydreaming Tony had enough and was laughing and trying to get my attention. "What you dreaming about over there?" Tony chuckled. "Oh, nothing, sorry." I blushed. Tony just laughed once again and then told me what he wanted me to do.

Later that night...

"(Y/N)? (Y/N)?" a voice woke me up. "Wh-hat?" I mumbled, still half asleep. "Who—? Oh, it's you Steve. What's the matter?" Relieve washed over me as I sat up. He sat himself down on the edge of my bed. He sighed, obviously trying to find the right words. "Right... (Y/N)... I need your help." I sat up suddenly, wondering what was the matter. "Yeah, of course, anything!" I was really unsure on what was the matter but I knew I'd help Steve in any way, shape or form, so if course I'd agree. "Well, you remember Bucky?" He trailed off, slightly smirking but still had a glimpse of worry in his face. "Yeah. How could I forget." Steve chuckled at my remark. "Well when we were on a mission last, I swear I saw him." My eyes opened wide. The initial shock passed as I make a quick remark, "Are you sure though?" I slightly frowned. He nodded. I asked JARVIS to turn on the lights and I climbed out of bed and head to my walk in closet to get changed. I walk out to Steve waiting for me. He told me where we were headed. We got to the jet which is what we were using.

We landed and it was a Hydra base. This is my first time. It felt a little terrifying to start with but if Bucky is still alive by being frozen too then it's best we find him and save him.

We had found Bucky. We saw him. It definitely is. But... he seems to be brainwashed or has lost his memories but either way we have to stop Hydra and get Bucky back.

Steve and Bucky were fighting I had just fought off the rest of the Hydra agents and turned to help Steve. Steve was being pinned down by Bucky. What do I do? I can't just let Bucky kill Steve. I did exactly what I thought I needed to do. I crept up to Bucky and pulled him off of Steve. But Bucky stabbed me in the arm soon after. I fell to the floor screaming and crying in agony. Steve rushed over to me. Bucky has seemed to paused and stood watching the scene unfold. I assured Steve I was fine but I was losing blood. I had  managed to wrap it up to help blood loss and Steve helped me. I turned round to find Bucky and Red Skull. Red Skull walking in our direction with Bucky stood next to us still confused. Red Skull went on about us foiling his plan and Steve was ready to attack his but he soon said "And I suppose I have no need for you now..." he turned round to Bucky and went to shoot him but I jumped in front of the gun that he had just picked up and the bullet went through my chest and with that and the blood loss from my arm caused me to collapse. I saw Buckys eyes widen and he started to get worried. Red Skull laughed and mumbled about how stupid I was and went to finish me off but Bucky soon stabbed him and killed him. Both Bucky and Steve rushes to my side. Bucky still not sure but knew what he originally did was wrong. I looked up at the pair, dripping with concern as everything turns black.

I feel. I feel my body. That sound like a weird sentence. I can feel my body... I try to open my eyes to only be greeted by a blinding light. I squeezed my eyes shut and slowly opened them again, trying to get used to the light. Once I had fully opened my eyes I could see I was in some sort of hospital. Or at least that's what it looked like. I tried to sit up to have a look around, only to be greeted by an pain in my chest and arm. After I kind of got used to the pain, I then managed to sit myself up a bit. I looked around and took a glance out of the square window on the other side of the room. It was nighttime and I just hope that Bucky and Steve are ok. I just still can't believe that Bucky is still alive after all this time. Always, I thought. I would always do anything for Steve and this is just strange but I'm just hoping that they're reunited.
I heard the creaking of a door opening nearby. I was sort of nervous and scared on who it could be. I heard footsteps come closer and closer until they stopped. A person peered round the corner, not wanting to disturb me I'm guessing. "Oh.. H-Hi. You probably shouldn't be sat up." The person mumbled. I looked closer and it was Bucky. "Oh, hey Bucky." He nodded and sat down next to me. There was an awkward silence. Bucky coughed. "Umm... I'm sorry..." It took me a while to register it and remember what had happened. It finally clicked and I replied, "Oh no it's fine. It wasn't really you. You didn't know any better." There was a slight pause before... "Yes! But that does not excuse what I did! Especially to you! You nearly died!" He yelled. "I became quiet. "Yes but you killed Red Skull, the person who was the main reason for my pain, and who was going to finish me off. So in the grand total of things, you saved my life." I mumbled. He sat in realisation. We both sat and stared at each other. He sighed and pulled himself up from the chair he was sat on, but before he could leave I grabbed his arm. It felt cold, it was metal. He tried to snatch it back in anger but I kept a tight grip on it. "Omg! You have a metal arm?! That's amazing! Can I have a proper look?!" I squealed. I loved prosthetics especially metal ones. "Umm... sure?" He slowly replied, in a state of shock. We sat and talked about ourselves and I tried to help him remember some things and he mentioned things that Steve had reminded him of until the morning. He got up and said his goodbye but before he left he turn round to me and gave me a soft kiss that I soon joined after. He chuckled at my reaction and walked off to do whatever he was going to do. That was... amazing! Someone chuckled from round a corner. It was Steve, I could tell. I wonder how long he's been there for.

A new chapter will be out tonight or tomorrow morning! Also, g would like the Society Netflix series oneshots book or a  just a regular fan book going through the first season with you in it as the reader. If the second option, who do you want to be it in relation to, Harry, Gordie, Luke, Jason, Clark? I might just do a oneshots book because it covers all the bases but if so I'll start it at the start of July because then I am 100% free and have all my attention toward it. And/or I could do a Netflix show oneshots book on Umbrella Academy. Anyway, I'd love anyone's feedback on that idea. Thank you!
