I stood beside Kaldur, trying my best to ignore all the flashing lights.

"Are you okay?" He mumbled glancing over at me as Orin waited for the crowd to settle down.

"I'm fine. Just trying to keep from looking at them."

"The flash bothering you?"

"What do you think?" I grumbled.

He sighed and walked over to Orin and whispered to him.

Orin nodded before clearing his throat, the crowd finally settling down.

"First of all, I would like to request that you refrain from using flash. Who wishes to have the first question?"

Hands flew up and Orin pointed at a blonde.

"Cat Grant, my question is why are we just now meeting Aquagirl?"

Orin looked over at me, basically telling me to answer myself.

Sighing I walked over to the podium, bending the microphones down.

"I've been assisting my king with matters underwater and have never really had a reason to come surface side. It's only recently that he has felt the need to have me up here."

"Mark Johnson, and my question is for Aqualad. How long have you known Aquagirl and how do you feel having her here?"

Kaldur smiled slightly walking over. "I believe that is two questions. I have known her since we were infants. And I'm very happy and relieved to have my friend at my side."

"Leon Bibb, what exactly are Aquagirl's powers?"

"I have the same as Aqualad, though if you consider politeness a power then he's got me beat." I answered, leaning against Kaldur.

I looked over at Orin. "I'm going to get out of here. I'm like half asleep and..." I trailed off. "Just say I'm needed somewhere. You coming with me?" I glanced at Kaldur.

He nodded.

"I'm afraid that's all the time these two can spend with us as they are needed elsewhere. I will continue to answer your questions however."

The two of us walked away, making sure to lose any reporters that might have followed us.

"Are you feeling well?" Kaldur questioned as we drew closer to the Zeta Tube.

"Yeah, that medicine is just making me super tired." I yawned.

"The medicine or the lack of sleep?"

My eyes widened slightly. "I've been getting-"

"No you have not." He reached out an arm, keeping me from entering the phone booth.

"Can we not talk about this?" I sighed pushing past him.

But the moment I reappeared in the Cave, I was pretty much trapped.

"We are talking about this Percy. You need to sleep more."

"Well excuse me for staying up late!" I snapped at him before stalking away to my room.

Well to the living room, which is where a hand grabbed my shoulder.

"Percy..." His voice was barely a whisper. "Your Highness...sit down...please."

I didn't respond, just walked away.

"I will tell the Team."

That caused me to freeze. "You wouldn't."

"Do you wish to find out?"

Turning around I glared at him. "I'm okay Kal-"

"I know you aren't okay Percy and that hurts! It hurts that you will not let me do the thing I swore to do! I'm supposed to protect you but how am I supposed to do that if you refuse to tell me what's wrong!?"

My glare faltered and I looked away.  "I'm going to go get changed." I mumbled before walking towards my room.

I don't think he's following me so I guess that's good.

Once in my room I pulled off my shirt before sighing. I can't tell him what's wrong. I can't-

"What happened?!" Kaldur rushed over to me.

Dam it.

I stood in silence as he lightly ran his fingers over the scars, his hands shaking.

"I'm sorry." He mumbled, moving away to sit on my bed head in his hands. "I'm sorry."

"Kaldur..." I sat beside him. "Look at me."

He did, staring at me as tears fell down his face. "I promised to protect you."

I sighed. "Take off your shirt."

"Why?" He wiped his eyes.

"Just do it." I crossed my arms. Kaldur nodded and pulled off his shirt before looking at me questioningly.

"You have protected me." I mumbled eyes scanning his torso. "You've put yourself between me and danger so many times."

Reaching out I traced the long scar running diagonally across his stomach. "So many times..."

I gasped pressing a hand to my stomach.

"Stay out of the way you brat." Percy's step-father glared at me.

"Kaldur come on." Percy pulled me away and towards her room. When we got inside she quickly locked the door.

Turning to look at me her eyes widened. "You're hurt."

"I am fine." I smiled trying to make her believe it.

"You're bleeding." She looked sad. "Here." Percy helped me get onto her bed before walking over to her dresser and pulling out a drawer.

Coming back over she was holding some alcohol and bandages.

She reached for the bottom of my shirt and I stopped her. My king said she can't know I am not a surface dweller.

"We need to fix it Kaldur." She forced my hands away and pulled up my shirt.

Then, almost like she's done it a lot, she cleaned up the cut and wrapped the bandages around my stomach.

"There. All better." She smiled at me, before putting the stuff away.

I rested a hand on the bandages. My skin is stronger than hers, if this cut me...what would it have done if I hadn't jumped in front of her?

Honestly when you can't think of anything else and it's just like flashback!

And I'm gonna go do my homework...which again I should have done earlier...
