I walked into the assembly chamber, Kaldur trailing behind me.

"Your Highness." A random assistant greeted. "We have a seat for you right over here."

"Thank you." I offered a small distant smile before following her.

She pulled out the chair for me and I sat down before scooting myself in.

"Do you want something to snack on while you wait?"

I shook my head. "I will be fine."

Her heels clicked on the tiles, but that did nothing to draw my attention away from the eyes all focused on me.

"I don't understand why I agreed to do this." I mumbled, only loud enough for Kaldur to hear.

"Because it was Orin asking. If it were a different ambassador, you would have never agreed."

I chuckled softly. "You're right. But tell me why the Team has to be here."

"Truthfully, I am not sure. My king has never doubted my abilities before."

I pressed my lips together, crossing my legs.

This is weird. He knows that I can take care of myself and even if I couldn't Kaldur easily could.

Eventually the meeting started and I was for the most part ignored. At least until they decided to involve me.

Kaldur

"Why is a child here instead of Aquaman?"

I could see Percy bristle, her hands clenching into fists.

"I am here as a favor. I assure you I am just as capable as he is."

As she said that, I released a held breath. That could have went badly.

"If you are just as capable, how is our proposition being received underseas?"

"Not well. My subjects do not feel as though they answer to you. We have existed separate for long enough for those feelings to be justified. Additionally, we do not feel as you take enough responsibility for the damage you have caused to our home."

A smile tugged at my lips, at least she was paying attention on our way here.

"I have a question. Why do you need a personal guard? Do you not trust us?" An American diplomat questioned, arms crossed.

"He was assigned to me before I left."

I simply stood there throughout the meeting, enjoying not being glared at by other Atlanteans.

Eventually Percy shot up and I reached for my sword.

"Listen, just because I am a teenager does not mean I am not capable of recounting this information. And since you will not act like it, I am not to remain here any longer."

She walked to the exit and I quickly followed.

"You handled that fairly well." I spoke softly.

She didn't show any sign of hearing me.

We continued walking until we reached the foyer.

"I will be back shortly your Highness if you grant me permission to leave."

"Go, you have my permission."

I nodded and headed back down a hallway, ducking into a room.

"Hey dude. How'd it go?" Wally grinned, shoving another cookie in his mouth.

"It went well, the princess is safe and is currently waiting in the foyer. I cannot leave her alone for too long, safety hazard."

"We appreciate you acting like her guard, but how does that armor fit you so well?" Artemis's eyes scanned my outfit.

I sighed and looked down at the shining bronze armor. "It is-"

I was cut off by a loud scream.

My eyes widened and I rushed out of the room, heading to where I left Percy.

When I reached the foyer, I could see people rushing out the door. But no Percy.

"Looking for someone?"

My head whipped around, allowing me to stare at a large man who had Percy.

"Let her go."

"She'll fetch us a pretty little ransom. So I'm goi g to have to say, no."

He disappeared from my sight, Percy barely struggling against him.

Someone has taken the princess they are heading upstairs.

On it dude.

I sprinted to the stairs, taking them two at a time.

The only issue is-

I think I know where they are.

Where?

You know the balcony thing? Out there.

I'm on my way up.

Why couldn't this have been in the UN headquarters?

I saw the rest of the Team and I quietly walked over.

Where is she?

Outside. There's two guards. I think they're waiting for a helicopter.

I swallowed. If she is forced to fly...

Miss Martian, disable the guards while Superboy and I get the doors open.

Dude, how do you know that it'll take the both of you?

I studied the layout of the building.

Megan nodded and disappeared before flying around the corner. Soom enough there was a thud and I looked at Connor.

He nodded and we rushed out pulling the doors open.

Almost immediately Wally rushed up, followed by the rest of us.

The Team froze up on seeing the sight laid out in front of us.

"It took you long enough." Percy smiled, fixing her chiton.

I knelt in front of her. "My apologies your Highness."

She scoffed. "You are lucky I am okay, otherwise my father would have your head. Additionally, you should thank me since I shall not report you."

"I am in your debt." I allowed my shoulders to drop.

"Hold up, how did you take these guys out?"

"I have been forced into self defense classes from a young age. I always thought of it as redundant, why would I need it when there are guards supposed to defend me. I suppose it is incase of any incompetence like I have witnessed today."

"That's not fair! He is one of the best fighters I know!" Wally yelled.

"Yet he failed to do the one job he was given. No matter, I must return to my father. Come along guard, and thank your friend if I change my mind."
