Today was the day that Harry and Winter threw their office Halloween party.

Winter knew what would happen today. She would get to see her husband's colleagues, Niall, Liam, and Louis. She would stand near Harry to show that the both of them were "happy" and "never better." She would try not to drink her feelings away when Lillian showed up. And she would most likely end up in the room.

The room that once meant so much to Winter and Harry around a year ago. The room that they made nothing but happy memories in. The room that now was just storage space for Harry's home work. That room.

Winter spent all day preparing snacks, dusting, and just lightly cleaning over the house for the guests that would eventually be coming.

Harry was at work for most of the day, but decided to come home around 3:00 o'clock to get ready for the party. Winter and Harry decided to dress up as Peter Pan and Tikerbell, a typical costume set couples did.

Soon enough, the dreaded time came. Winter put on her best happy face, but her happiness did anything but reach her eyes. As guests filed in, Harry placed his hand on her lower back, talking to people he saw day to day. Winter was already on her fourth glass of wine when she and Harry were talking with Liam, but she was zoned out. She was watching her. The girl that stole Winter's happiness. The girl that stole Winter's Harry away. And to make things worse she was dressed as Wendy.

"Winnie, Winnie darling?" Harry pulled her out of her trance, but she just smiled her best fake smile and looked at the ground. "Excuse me," she almost whispered as she walked off, downing her wine and entering the kitchen to pour herself a new glass. Harry knew exactly what she was doing and followed her.

"Sweetheart, don't you think that's enough?" He questioned since they were the only two in the kitchen. Winter just shrugged.

"I have not even had that many cups, I promise," she forced a smile, but Harry knew better.

He knew his wife. He knew that she knew about him and his secretary. But what happened to them a year ago, he couldn't look at his wife the same.

He just looked at his watch and then looked up at Winter, "alright bear, but if you feel like you're getting tipsy, please stop. That is going to set a bad example of us, don't you think?"

Winter nodded, but she knew she would drink until she forgot her name tonight. Harry kisses her cheek quickly before disappearing back into the living room.

When Winter emerged, she saw he was with no other than Lillian. They were laughing and sharing lighthearted conversations, something Winter only wish her and Harry could do once again. That's when her knees felt weak and she could no longer stand the weight on her shoulders from the act she had to put up with. She pushed her way through the crowd of people and swiftly walked up the stairs. Opening the door to the room, she quickly stepped in and locked the door behind her, sitting in the corner and finally letting her tears flow freely.

About two hours later, Harry unlocked the bedroom with the master key and emerged to Winter asleep on the floor, the red wine spilled on the white carpet. He sighed and sat down, running his fingers through Winter's hair.

He loved her. She was his missing puzzle piece. Key word: WAS. He still loved her. But ever since that heart crushing day in September of the year prior, he couldn't function the same. He knew it wasn't her fault, but he couldn't help but to blame her.

"Winnie, maybe I'll learn to love you like I once did," he whispered to her sleeping figure.

He picked her small body and carried her to bed, laying her down and taking her shoes off. He then changed and left for Lillian's place, not knowing when he would be back.
