DAN

My eyes flitted open, and I was immediately aware of the extra warmth I felt. The arm over my waste and the body next to me.

"You're awake." Phil whispered, and I nodded, smiling over at him. "I got your text. It made me miss you, so I came and cuddled with you." He explained, and I only nodded again.

"Is that the only reason why you came in?" I asked, once again closing my eyes and melting into his embrace.

"Of course not." He spoke lowly, and I assumed he didn't want me to hear that. "Pretty much." He spoke normally, and I nodded once more, playing along.

I wasn't about to ask, that's just not something I can do. My awkward ways never failed to mute my words.

We laid like that for hours, until we both got hungry. I never asked what he meant, I didn't plan to ask ever. My late night thoughts had other plans, of course.
