Reese's POV
After a few hours of boring, (walking around aimlessly with Talu) I decided it was time to eat. The festival was just starting to get loud as more supernaturals and humans rustle in to meet their potential mate.
I looked at the sky, night was nigh ...the vampires would be showing up soon. It's not that I didn't like vampires but their bonding ceremony was by far the worst. I shivered at the thought , I felt for the poor fellow that was mated to a vampire.
"Thinking about me?" A groggy voice said behind me that I recognized as my brother Ritz. 27. Still unmated. A rarity above all else.
"You wish nerd" I sighed and looked up at him ; why was I so short.
"It's my 12th year here and it still doesn't get any fun" he sighed dramatically. I chuckled at his sense of humor, I'm not sure I could withstand this festival for 12 years. "I'm not sure if I'll even find my mate this year"
"Maybe. Maybe not" he said nonchalantly as he ate pizza.
"You're so helpful big bro" I scoffed.
"I try" he mocked with a huge smile on his face.
Deciding the conversation was going nowhere i continued my quest for food finally deciding on some fried oreos. Just as I ate a wolf began to howl. A werewolf found his mate, how sweet. I shook my head.
"Something bothering you?" I heard a smooth voice say.
"No" I said simply not wanting to further the encounter.
"How old are you ?" He continued, not catching the hint.
"16" I obviously didn't get the hint either. He sat down next to me and tapped his finger against the table. Not seeming to want my attention but more like a twitch or quirk. "You're young"
"It's my first year here" I said shortly; what did he want.
"Fortunately it's my last year here" he said gently but persuasively grabbing my chin and forcing me to look in his midnight blue eyes. The tingles sent through my body made me panic and shoot out of my seat running. Why was I running ? Hell if I know but I can deduct a few things .
1) he was my mate
2) he was a he
3) he was huge
4) And undeniably a vampire...
I'm the poor fellow...
