Eiji punched Ash in the stomach not very hard, leaning back from the hug with red rims around his eyes. Seeing those piercing green eyes, that golden blonde head of hair, those thin lips, sharp nose, deep set jawline... it was so much. So much loving memory. It was heartache inducing. Ash was right when he joked about all the girls wanting him for how handsome he was. Made himself weak in the knees just thinking about it.
"Don't stare too long, I might have to say you're broken." Ash was still as charming as ever wasn't he? Just enough so that Eiji couldn't hold himself back from pulling the collar of Ash's jacket and doing what he thought of for so long. He forced their lips together in a passionate, teeth-clashing, heart warming, blush-inducing kiss. It was also mildly intoxicating, his head spinning as Ash instinctively wrapped his arms tighter around the shorter one. Their bodies were flush together, fitting like puzzle pieces would, as if they were carved from wood.
A wolf whistle came from the doorway, along with the flash of a polaroid camera. Ash had been so caught up in the moment he didn't even hear Max and Shunichi come down the hall. He pulled away slowly from the kiss, Eiji's face a bloom of red and pale white. Might as well have taken a marker to his face, that's how red he was. "I guess you aren't broken then." He gave a smirk and a wink, letting go to start for the door. "Come on, I'd hate for dinner to go to the wayside."
But it didn't - Ash, Eiji, Ibe, and Max all gathered around the dining room table and indulged in what had been made. Pork and rice, along with seaweed wrapped sushi. Yummy. Max turned out to be the only one at the table that couldn't use chopsticks properly (even after a nice demonstration) so he stabbed sushi with a fork in attempt that it wouldn't fall apart.
"I still can't believe you left New York, Ash." Shunichi commented before stuffing a piece of seaweed sushi into his mouth. He really left it open to pick up there didn't he?
"I knew he'd come - I just thought it would have been with Max rather than later. Gave me a scare there." Eiji laughed a little, having calmed down finally and wasn't so red in the face. He also didn't have any red in his eyes from crying. He sat across from Ash, Ibe on his left and Max on the right.
"I had some last minute business to handle, that's all." He shrugs, mixing up the rice and using chopsticks to eat a piece of meat with the little grains stuck all of it. He was surprised it actually tasted decent, remembering the incident with the natto and weirdly cooked rotten fish. Ash shuttered in thought, taking a drink from his cup to wash it all down into the abyss of his stomach.
"Sure, 'business'." Max did air quotes, rolling his eyes before finding that Ash had easily snatched up his fork and was spinning it between his fingers. "Hey!" He glared, reaching to get it back but finding it held out of reach. Eiji and Shunichi shared a look and a little laugh as Max and Ash basically danced around the table to play keep away. "You little punk!" And off to the kitchen the game went.
"Should I be surprised anymore?" Eiji hears Ibe-san murmur, standing up to collect any empty dishes and refill his cup of tea. Into the battleground he ventures, Ash now going to bolt downstairs with Max hot on his tail. The japanese boy was comfortable just listening and watching when he heard a little mew from his feet, a sleek blonde furred purr baby at his feet, gazing up with lime green eyes and a cutesy black studded bell collar.
Eiji grinned, leaning over to pick the half maine coon half persian up, plopping him in his lap for grooming affection. "Hey there Ashie, who's the best kitty in the world?" He rubbed his cheek against Ashie's fur, getting a proud 'merp' in response and a very affectionate sniff to the face. "Yes, you are." He giggled, hugging the cat until he jumped up on the human's shoulder and proceeded to sniff all over his hair. This was a ritual at this point. Eiji listened as feet sounded on the stairs again, Max appearing first very out of breath but with his fork in hand. Ibe came back with another cup of hot tea and a refill for Max's coffee. He damn well earned it after a squabble with Ash. The man was a quick little son of a bitch.
And speaking of, his footsteps sounded soft on the stairs as he returned with his bag and suitcase. He had taken the opportunity to fetch the things while down on the first floor. Ash pushed his blonde hair back with a hand for it to just fall back in its usual position. "So which room is mine?" They all pointed to the door across from Eiji's room, to the left. It was open just a crack, with a key hanging off the handle. "And what's the furball's name?" The cat had jumped into Ash's seat while they spoke, receiving a few head pets from his predecessor. "Handsome fella." he scratched under his chin and around the jingly collar.
"Take a wild guess, Aslan." Shunichi tilted his head towards Eiji when he said this, who immediately flushed bright tomato red and socked him in the shoulder hard. "What?!" He was playing dumb, like Ash couldn't figure it out without a hint. The cat and Ash looked so much alike, it was only expected that the two shared names.
"Good choice, Ei." Ash chuckled, suitcase rolling across the hardwood behind him as he went to his room for the next however long he'd stay here. "I'm not disappointed." He teased, going into the room and turning on the light switch. The bed was made with red and black sheets, a safe positioned in one corner with the combination on a scrap of paper resting on top. He threw his suitcase up on the dresser, unzipping the top to remove all of the guns and knives he'd snuck in. Airport security are so stupid sometimes, really.
Clothes into the drawers and guns into the safe, he tucks his prized gun into the top sock drawer and turns to see Eiji in the doorway with a couple more pillows. "Must have a bad back with as much as you run around." There was also a heating blanket on the top. He really did care so much about Ash despite almost dying multiple times.
"Thanks, Eiji." Seems like he did stay - but this is far from forever.
