Dean sat in the library tapping his pencil on the desk waiting for the clock to strike 4:45. Detention felt like it was taking forever.
Since Castiel an Dean were in detention for the same reason, Castiel was sent to a different room for the next hour, which means Dean was all alone in the library.

"Dean, when you get home, don't forget to do the laundry."
Ellen said as she put a few books on the shelf.
"I won't. Why does Cas have to be in a different room? I don't know the kid that well but it's boring."
"Dean, I told you this 30 minutes ago. It's the school rules. Maybe you shouldn't have ran through the halls."
"Hey, better to get caught by Crowley than anyone else."
"Dean, you're an idiot. Now stop talking and get to work so you don't have to do it when you get home."
"Alright, fine."
Dean turned his focus back onto his papers and stared at the clock until it detention was finally over.

"Well, it's time, you can go now, I'll be home soon, okay?"
"Okay, love you, bye!"
"Bye!"
Dean remembered that he had to take Castiel home with him to tutor him so he sat down at the steps of the school waiting for him. He started to dose off before he saw all black cover his eyes.

"Guess whooooo?"
Dean moved the hands off of his eyes and stated sarcastically
"Well, with the slight smell of smoke and mint coming from your breath and the combat boots and cuff bracelet, I'd say... Charlie? OW!"
As he said that, Castiel whacked him upside the head with no remorse.
"Well, Einstein, are we going to go to your house to study or are we going to argue?"
"Hmmm, depends on the argument."
"Dumbass"
"Idiot"
"Jerk"
"Bitch"
"Ooh, big boy using mean words? You're grounded, Mr Winchester!"
"You're not my dad!"
"But you can call me daddy!"

Dean just stared at Castiel in confusion and laughed.
"Um, McScuse me bitch? I think the fuck not!!"
They both rolled over laughing not being able to contain their laughter.
Dean never did tell jokes much but when he did, he didn't have as much fun as he is now.

They walked the rest of the way to Dean's impala in silence. When Dean unlocked the car, Castiel just stared at it.
"Dude, your car is old."
"Yeah? Well it still works like new."
"Doubt it."
"Really? Well get in and I'll prove you wrong."
"Alright."

Castiel got in and sat on the leather bench seat. He tried to turn on the radio, but Dean slapped his hand.
"Hey, driver picks the music, shot gun shuts his cake hole."
Castiel was a bit confused.
"I thought it was pie hole?"
Dean looked at the steering wheel for a second.
"I think it is pie hole. Oh well"
And Dean started the car and they were off.

After a few minutes of driving, Castiel asked how Sam would've gotten home if Dean was in detention.
"Oh, he usually takes the city bus to the local diner to work on his AP classes. He likes the home-like environment."
"Hm, that sounds nice."
"Yeah. He says he's never really felt like he's had a home so he goes where it feels the most like it. So other than going to the diner and school, he doesn't really leave the house much."
Castiel started at the dash board with a small huff.
"I can relate. Mom left, dad never recovered from that, brothers are bastards, my house doesn't feel like a home. But I have a place where I go that feels exactly like home."
"Really? Where?"

Castiel looked at Dean with a small smirk.
"Stick around long enough and you'll find out."
Dean raised an eyebrow at Castiel.
"What do you mean by that?"
"I mean, you'll just have to find out when the time comes."
"Whatever you say, Cas."

Castiel smiled at the sudden realization that Dean never really did call him by his full name, just a nickname.
"Cas... I like that."

Castiel scrolled through his phone while Dean was driving, looking at social media, telling his dad where he was just in case, and when he saw a couple of funny photos, he'd show them to Dean.
While Dean was looking at the photo and laughing with Castiel, he heard a loud honk and a "Dean look out!"
as Castiel grabbed the wheel and yanked the car to the other side.

No one got hurt, no head on collisions, they just ended up facing the opposite direction in a ditch.
"Cas, you good."
"Yeah, are you?"

They were both breathing heavily, they were both shaky, but they were both okay. Castiel noticed how shaky Dean was and grabbed his hand to try to calm him down. Somehow, Dean calmed down almost instantly.

After a few minutes, Dean finally broke the silence saying
"I need to learn to pay more attention."
Castiel gripped his hand tighter and Dean let him keep his hand there for a few more minutes.

Dean slowly let go of Cas' hand and put the car in reverse to get out of the ditch, then facing the car the correct way and driving to his house.

Castiel put his phone away and they rode the rest of the car ride in silence.

HEYO EVERYONE!
This was short and kinda odd, but it's more or so of a filler chapter than anything. I have big ideas for basic plot lines and chapters in the future, but it's only for one or two. I need more ideas so feel free to comment so this story doesn't flop.
Thank you and Goodnight! Or day, or what ever time it is for you.
