"Oh Taylor! You forgot your lip rings!" Karlie reminded her.
"Karlie Kloss, you are a life saver." Taylor was thankful.
Karlie placed the two metal hoops into Taylor's palms. It was exactly what was missing, but considering they were such a minor detail, Taylor had completely forgotten.
"Uh Karlie... You might have to help," Taylor mumbled, looking at her fingernails.
"Right right! I'll do them for you."
Taylor returned the lip rings back to Karlie. She fumbled around with them, figuring out how to get them open. Once she got them ready, she asked Taylor to open her mouth so she could put them on.
"How do you want them done? One in the middle, two at one side or like one either side?"
"Uh one on both sides so it's like I have snake bites."
Karlie followed Taylor's orders and clipped the rings to the corners of Taylor's bottom lip. She shuffled backwards, then went back in to adjust them, so that they were symmetrical.
"Do they look alright?" Taylor asked.
"Yeah they look amazing!"
Taylor grabbed the mirror on the floor and had a look for herself. She was finally content that her outfit was complete. She was ready for Halloween.
"Right, now lets take this selfie!" Karlie said, pulling out her phone again.
Taylor perched her head on Karlie's shoulder, trying her hardest not to smile. She wanted this gothic look to work, but smiling would ruin the whole outfit.
The way Taylor pouted at the camera made Karlie become giggly.
"You look so stupid Tay, honestly! You may as well just smile!"
Taylor knew that she had a point, but was still taken back by the remark.
"Don't call me stupid!" She exclaimed, shoving Karlie to the side.
"Well don't push me, bitch!" Karlie shoved her back.
Just like little children, the two started to play-fight. They tumbled around on the floor, kicking the makeup brushes everywhere.
"You're gonna mess up my costume!" Taylor said lightheartedly, trying to get Karlie to stop.
"So?" Karlie stated.
Karlie had Taylor pinned to the floor. She was towering over her, staring her down from above. It was intimidating and instantly killed the playful mood.
She stayed there, just looking down at Taylor as she held her body over hers. Karlie's intense stare faded into a longing gaze. Her eyes hesitantly looked down to Taylor's lips, then quickly back up to her piercing red eyes. Seeing Taylor like this, flustered Karlie. It made her heart race and filled her with so many emotions. In the moment, she didn't know how to speak. The room grew silent, and all that could be heard was Taylor's gentle gasps for air.
Out of nowhere, Karlie spoke. "I've always wondered what it's like..." she paused, "to kiss someone with lip piercings."
She inched her face into Taylor's, fluttering her eyes closed, the closer she got. Taylor had no time to respond before she suddenly found herself kissing her best friend. It was everything she'd dreamed of and more. Taylor had always envisioned that she'd be the one to kiss Karlie first. However, since Karlie made the first move, that made Taylor believe that she finally had a chance with the girl she'd longed to be with.
As Karlie pulled away, Taylor let out a deep sigh. She was caught off guard and needed time to catch her breath before speaking. Taylor didn't know what to say though - she was lost for words. Instead, she found herself staring at Karlie in shock.
"Oh Karlie," Taylor gasped, wrapping her arms around the back of Karlie's neck.
She pulled her in for a hug and squeezed her tight. Taylor didn't ever want to let go of her, now that she was finally where she wanted her to be: in her arms.
"I love you so much," Taylor mumbled.
Karlie didn't respond though. Taylor quickly became concerned that something was wrong. She let go of Karlie and gave her the opportunity to speak. Before talking, Karlie sat up and pulled Taylor off the floor with her. Taylor couldn't take her eyes off the girl, yet Karlie couldn't bring herself to look at Taylor at all.
"Karlie what's wrong?"
"Nothing, it's just... I didn't realise you liked me... I wasn't expecting the kiss to mean anything."
"D-did you not like it?"
"No! No it's not that. I really liked it. I don't know..."
Taylor felt the urge to hug Karlie again. She pulled her in close and gently held her.
"It's okay if you don't know. You don't have to know. But what I do want you to know is that I love you Karlie Kloss, with all my heart. I'm always here for you," Taylor softly spoke, comforting Karlie.
She didn't speak, but Karlie acknowledged Taylor's words by clinging tightly to her. They both stayed on the floor, bundled up in each other's warm embrace, until it was finally time to leave.
