AU - no walkers. no boarding school . just an insanely strong crush.
Ice skating ~
She hated the idea. But he had asked her and she had said yes before she had properly thought about the consequences. Any sense of logic and reason had, apparently, been silenced by the sudden rush of adrenaline.

"I'm going ice skating this weekend. Was meant to be going with Marlon but he ditched." Louis had told her after their maths lesson on Friday. "I have a spare ticket."

Clem looked at him confused before she caught on. "Oh - I... I don't skate."

"It'll be fun. I promise." She still looked unconvinced. "I'll buy lunch."

She giggled. "Fine." Her smile dropped as she realised what she actually agreed to. She opened her mouth to take back her promise but Louis was already speaking.

"Great. I'll pick you up tomorrow- 12 okay?" She nodded, still stunned. "Perfect. See you." He turned and started walking away from her.

"Wait, Louis!" She called after him. He turned to face her. "I don't think I can..." she stopped, looking at the overly excited teen who faced her. She couldn't bail. Not after Marlon had done the same thing. "I don't think I can let you buy lunch."

He smiled. "We'll see."

And now here she was, standing before a large slate of ice full of a couple dozen people (mixed with obvious professionals and even more obvious beginners) and Clementine could very honestly say she was petrified. She couldn't believe she'd put herself in this position.

Clementine had woken up early that morning giving herself ages to get ready. She had planned her outfit that Friday night - black, high waist leggings and a flared arm, rust top with the new trainers her uncle (who now looks after her after the devastating demise of her parents) got her last week - so she decided to take her time in the shower.

She used the new shampoo and conditioner she got on her way home from school yesterday. It read "sharp and sweet - cinnamon and rose petals". She thought it sounded a bit weird but the girl and the checkout said her boyfriend loved it so she decided to give it a go.

When she got out the shower she applied her usual leave in conditioner (she loved the way it made her curls look) and styled her hair in a half up, half down with French plaits leading the pony tail.

She got changed into her outfit and brushed her teeth. She checked the time.

10.26

Just enough time to eat a good breakfast and attempt a little light makeup.

At 11.52, Clem grabbed her bag and went downstairs.

"Leaving already?" Her uncle, Lee, asked from the kitchen, washing up a few plates.

"No. Louis should be here soon."

He turned to face her. "Wow. You look nice." He said sceptically.

"Really? Oh, thanks."

"A little fancy for ice skating, don't you think?"

Clementine gulped and checked the time.
11.54.
"I... just chucked this on. Had some extra time so I put on some makeup. No biggie."

"Okayyy." He smiled. "Am I gonna get to meet this 'Louis'."

Clementine had mentioned his name 'casually' every now and then. Totally because they were super close friends and not because shes had this massive crush on him for the last couple months. Lee had become a huge father figure in the last years and everything he had done came out of love - including interrogating any male friend she had. When Lee first met Gabe, he expressed his concern. He ended up being right as about 5 months later they got into a massive argument that ended their friendship forever. And it was over pudding, of all things.
