Chapter20: Explanations

Five months ! It had been five months since Draco and Hermione broke up. Hermione had not heard from her former companion. She had settled with Noah in a small house near the Burrow so that he could see his family whenever he wanted but Hermione could see that his son was not doing well.

How to explain to his son that Draco did not want to see him anymore, because he had never asked to see Noah again. Hermione had sent him several owls that were unfortunately unanswered. The hardest part though was Christmas, Noah had always spent Christmas with Draco and there nothing, no news.

It had been five months since Noah had seen the man he considered his father. The child was closing in on him more and more. Her mistress had even alerted Hermione that he was not playing anymore and was laughing even less. What she herself had noticed.

One day when Ginny came to see them, Hermione talked to her about it.

- See him again!

-No !

-Hermione, leave your pride aside and go talk to him! Do not let your son depress!

-I have already sent him several owls that have remained unanswered.

-You know why you do not want to go talk to him?

- ...

-Because you still love him! If not...

-No Ginny! I do not feel anything for Draco Malfoy anymore.

Hermione could not say her name since her voice faltered at his mention.

-Hermione! I have to go to France this weekend, I'll take Noah with me!

-But no Ginny! You do not already see Jules often so enjoy these moments.

-Hermione, we have all the time Jules and I, besides, I will soon be transferred there, we will always be together, so I can take my nephew! And you ... you'll enjoy it to see Draco. It's time for you to talk to him.

-I do not know !

-Hermione! You want him to learn it from someone else!

Hermione thought for a moment and agreed, it was time for them to have a little discussion together.

On Thursday night, Ginny came looking for her nephew. Her teacher had agreed that he would not come to school the next day if it could cheer him up.

Hermione had the whole evening to think about how soon she would see Draco again.

The next day, she returned home after school, she was tired and wanted to rest before facing Draco.

It was around 18h ??that Hermione decided to go, she went by the floo powder to the Auror Quarter.

She addressed the hostess at the entrance.

-Hello Madam, I would like to speak to Draco Malfoy, please!

-Who is that ?

-Drago Malfoy!

- Sorry, but there is no one with that name in the office.

Hermione moved away from the switchboard operator still in shock. That's when one of Draco's co-workers saw her.

-Hermione? But what are you doing here?

-I came to see Draco but was told he was not here!

-But Hermione! It's been five months since he was fired!

-Fired ?

-Yes !

-Why ?

-He defeated one of the Death Eaters he had arrested at the mansion.
