Dan walked along the filled halls of his highschool to his locker. Nobody would have thought that, even while a hundred or more students roamed around him, Dan could feel so alone. But looking around, you could see why pretty clearly.
Everyone was with someone else. Everyone had friends. That wasn't the case for Dan. The brunette was alone.
As Dan made his way around the school halls, he became fully aware of the whispers that started as he walked past his classmates. He ignored them and unlocked his locker, taking out his maths book and shutting it again.
In maths, Dan sat alone in the back corner, next to the window that reaveled the green grass and red-pink cherry blossoms that dotted the school quad. Dan sat down, looking out the window and putting in his black earbuds, blaring Twenty One Pilots.
When the teacher walked in, Dan pulled the hood of his black hoodie over his head, concealing the earbuds. Dan looked up at the board as if he were actually paying attention to avoid any form of call home - his dad wouldn't be too happy if he got a call saying his son wasn't paying attention - as the raven walked into the classroom, a faint pink colour dusted ever so slightly across his cheeks. Dan took out an earbud to listen to the boy.
"Ah, a new kid," The teacher - Mr.Cinna - says to the boy. "Why don't you introduce yourself, seeing as you're too important to at least knock before interupting my lesson."
"Sorry, sir," The boy begins, his cheeks turning a darker shade of pink. The blush was still incredibly light, but the boy had such a pale skintone, it stuck out as if it were a flaming, blaze-hot red.
"Um... Well I'm Phil." He says, cluthing his maths book to his chest tightly.
"Alright Phil, we'll have you sit next to Dan there in the back," Mr.Cinna says, pointing to the left corner. Dan internelly screams as the raven - Phil - walks over to plunk down into the empty chair at Dan's right.
"Hi," The boy says to Dan. Dan just puts his earbuds back in his ear and turns back to the chalkboard to 'listen' to the teacher's lecture on quatradic expressions.
The bell is the only thing to break through his music. The ringing runs throughout the class, signaling the end of class and the begining of freetime. Dan gets up, picks up his books, and walks out of the cold, stuffy classroom. He shoves his books into his locker and heads towards the pink-dotted quad, sketchbook and pencils clutched to his chest protectivly.
Dan sits down underneath a red-pink topped tree - his usual spot during freetime or lunch - and takes out his latest sketch, a girl with dripping fingers, slit wrists, and flowing brown hair, covering her shoulders in a heap of chesnut curls.
As Dan adds more colors and smudges here and there to finish the drawing, he feels as if he's being watched. He looks up to see the raven from class - Phil, he thinks his name was - looking at him, his vibrant, electrifyingly blue eyes following Dan's every hand movement.
Dan stands and walks to another tree to sit behind, leaving the sight of the raven boy.
