Chapter 3: ready or not

"Alex!!!" My darling mother (note the sarcasm) screeched at me from the kitchen.

"What Mom."

"Time for camp. I put all your clothes in your bag and threw it in the car. Now go eat your food and get out!"

Yes, I realize she seems a little rough here but in reality she was trying not to cry. I'm the last bird in her nest and now that I'm leaving for camp all summer she's kind of going to be alone a lot.

Ella my older sister is across the world doing some modeling thing as usual... my older brother just got married and moved to New York to start a family and make a good living for himself and last but not least my Dad.

He's my best friend and unfortunately has been through a lot. Just last month they found a brain tumor. Obviously this put a new perspective on all of our lives. Luckily, they caught it soon enough and I couldn't be more grateful for having my dad around longer then expected. But the whole situation left my mom depressed.

My moms just really in her baby blues. She needs something to keep her company while my siblings are away and my dad's at work.

Oh did I mention he's a movie maker?

No?

Oh... well he is.
