CHAPTER 7
“U-uh yeah, that was me."
It took me some time to reply.
“Thank you so much for bringing my lolo dun sa clinic! He wasn’t supposed to be wandering around despite his condition, he’s so stubborn talaga.”
“It’s ok.” Small and short; these are the words that come out of my mouth, whenever we talk. When will I learn to talk to her straightly? Na u-utal ako.
“Why are you stuttering? Mukha kang nakakita ng multo.”
“A-eh nothing, I was just.. Um, rationalizing.?” I honestly don’t know what I’m talking about right now.
“What’s to rationalize about pala?”
“A-eh, just stuff, stuff and some other- uh, things.”
Then she laughs.
“Hhihihihihiihihihi”
“YOU’RE SO FUNNY LEANN”
Leann? Did she just say my name?
“W-what did I do?” I asked.
She pats her stomach to stop the laughter.
“Wala lang, ang funny mo kasi eh? I can’t help but laugh.”
“E, wala naman akong ginawa ah?” I said defensively.
“Are you always like that?” Suddenly serious.
“I don’t know? I-uh... maybe?” Holy sh- I really don’t know what to say?! Help!!??
