CHAPTER 8
“Walang anuman my dear.”
We hopped on Auntie’s chevy and rode towards our house.
“Malapit na tayo, when we get to the house, I’ll cook something delicious.”
Analisse smiles silently as the car passes by the road.
It only took minutes for us to reach the house.
*gates open*
*car parks*
“Your house is huge Leann.” Analisse says suddenly.
“Ah-I don’t really see it that way.” The land makes the place bigger and wider, but the house was built for a family, it isn’t really that big.
“Tara pasok na tayo, baka umambon na.” Says Auntie.
“Ok po auntie.”
“Yes tita.”
We said in chorus.
I was feeling a little anxious and nervous with Analisse.
After putting all of my things in my room, we gathered at the long dining table and started to have dinner.
“Taga saan ka hija? You look like some foreigner.” Auntie asks while slicing the meat with a table knife.
“I just came back from Italy po, I’m half Italian half Filipino, I came back to assist my lolo. It’s been a year na din po since I came back here.”
“Ang fair skinned mo, and your eyes are beautiful. Rare ang mga ganyang klaseng mata nowadays.”
“Ah thank you po.” She blushes in flattery.
“Magsalita ka naman dyan Topher.” Uncle demanded.
“Uh, ho?” I said in a low voice.
“Bisita mo siya diba? Kausapin mo naman.”
I forced myself to speak up.
“Analisse, how’s your lolo?”
“He’s fine now, nagpapahinga sya sa bahay.”
“Nagpapasalamat po talaga ako, If your nephew wasn’t there, my lolo could’ve been gone by now.” Analisse says to Uncle and Auntie.
“Ang bait naman talaga ng pamangkin natin O-oh.” Says Auntie.
Dinner was done. Listening to Auntie, Uncle and Analisse was so fun though I wasn’t able to speak too much.
“Why don’t you walk miss Analisse around the house Hijo?” Uncle insisted.
“Opo Uncle. Wanna come with me Analisse?”
“Sure Leann.”
I lead Analisse to a room with cabinets filled with figurines and picture frames.
“Ang dami namang antiques at pictures dito.” Says Analisse.
“These are collections of my mother when we were living here.”
“Talaga? She’s must’ve been very interested with these.”
“I can still remember my mom entering this room and admiring all her collections.”
Analisse explored the room. And saw a small picture frame. She took a closer look in it.
“Leann, S-sino ka ba talaga?” She said weakly.
Analisse turned pale and her knees were shaking. She faints.
