Valerie POV

Biting my lip I wince at the still slightly burning pain on my hand. Looking around I see the men standing in my kitchen looking at the doorway that Dalton just walked out of. I feel like absolute crap for being so horrible to him. Groaning I stand up, careful to not bump my hand against the table.

"Lu-Valerie." Gabe calls to me.

"Yeah?" Looking up at him I see something in his eyes and the 3 others milling around my kitchen are avoiding eye contact completely.

"You need to eat, I'll go get D in a second after he's cooled off a bit." He says calmly even though I have dropped my gaze down I can feel his gaze on me.

Without looking up at his voice I glare down and nibble on my lip thinking about it. Weighing my options my stomach growls but I ignore it and decide that I wanna go see him. My heart lurched in my chest when he walked out. I need him back by my side. I wasn't sure where the urge came from but, at least for the moment, I was done fighting my urges to run to him. I was going to run toward him and ignore the other part of me screaming inside of me to run away.

Turning I sprint toward the door. Whipping it open I wince at the bright light and let my eyes search across the lawn, looking for any sign as to where he was. I hold back a sob when I see him pacing in front of the gate muttering to himself with his large fists clenched at his sides.

"Dalton." Gasping out his name didn't get his attention, his head snapped up before I could get his name out. Looking into his eyes had me saying his name. Since I wasn't holding back anymore I took off from the house and ran into his arms. I was quick enough that he barely had time to open his arms before I flung myself against his body. Snuggling my face into his neck I breathe in deeply. For some reason that, at the moment, I wasn't going to waste time analyzing.

Kissing his neck I smile against his skin as I feel the groan rumble against my chest. Biting lightly I wrap my legs around his waist and pull myself flush against him. "I don't know what's going on. I'm scared and to be honest I am bitchy when I'm hurt. I also was hurt on levels that I don't want to talk about just yet by my family and people I have known in my life. I just need you to be patient. I'm sorry I was mean. I was a bitch."

The tight grip on the back of my hair pulls my face from his neck. His normally light eyes are dark but they hold my own and I lower them a bit. "Baby look at me right now." His growling voice has a shiver going down my spin. Biting my lip I look up into his eyes again.

Tightening his grip on my hair he leans his head down to mine so we are only breaths apart. "Don't you ever talk about yourself like that again lil mama. You got some issues and I can get behind that. You open up and talk to me when you are ready. But don't ever talk down about yourself like that baby girl. I know you don't understand all of this but I will explain it all soon." Leaning down he brushes his lips against mine. Griping the back of his neck I moan against his mouth as I pull him tighter to me. The rumble from his chest has me purring against his mouth as I open my mouth and run my tongue along his bottom lip.

The loud popping noise has me jumping before a moan pours from my lips as the sting from my ass registers in my brain. "You're being a very bad girl. Hmm-mm baby girl I think I'm going to need to show you what kind of man you are dealing with." Using the grip he has on my hair he brutally cranks my neck back before slamming his mouth against my own. Groaning against his mouth I rub every inch of my body against his like a cat in heat. The growling in his chest has my nipples pebbling against him. Opening my mouth I let his tongue enter and search my mouth thoroughly while grinding my hips against his has us panting hard.

"Hey can y'all at least get a room? You're giving some of the other guys hard-on's." Gabe's voice has me throwing my head back laughing. Dalton lets out a large, deep growl that has my laughing calming slightly.
