AN: I love cliff hangers... actually not really. With your luck, there might be another one. After all, the title of this chapter does give a clue. (: Live Love Enchance <3
Anayese's POV
Once I was done dressing up, I skipped to Greyson's door and knocked. "Greyson? I'm ready. Are you finshed yet?" I called into the door. After about five seconds, there was no answer. "Grey...?" I was so tense. Maybe something happened... My heart felt heavy and cold. "Greyson, I'm coming in." I slowly and cautiously opened the door. Greyson wasn't in his room. The bathroom lights were on so I crept closer. I heard someone moan from the restroom. I immediately ran towards the direction of the sound and found Greyson on the floor.
"What the HECK happened?" I emphasized the word HECK. It was hard to pronounce with a british accent though. Greyson looked dazed and confused. "What?" He asked me. "Greyson, sit up. What are you doing on the floor of the bathroom?" I asked as I helped him up. He still looked dizzy as if he might barf any second. "I-I was about to change and I don't know what happened but I ended up on the floor." He said as soon as his vision cleared up. "Are you okay?" I asked, making sure he wasn't hurt. He laughed. "Holy Crap I'm so stupid. I think I slipped on the water that I spilled earlier." He stood up but almost fell so I held him up. "Thanks." He muttered, still smiling.
"Greyson it isn't funny. Are you okay?" I was pretty much still concerned. "Yeah, yeah. I probably have just a bruise or something." I let out a breath. I hadn't realized I was holding it in. "Okay, good. And since you're changed, let's go." I took his arm and pulled him out of the apartment. "Eager much? Or is someone craving?" He teased. "Neither. I'm just hungry. I'm not craving anything in particular." I said as we started walking towards the coffee shop.
The sun was shining brightly through the leaves of the trees and the fresh scent of white roses hung in the air. Few people were walking the sidewalks and walking their dogs. I guess it was a bit early for people to come out at 7:30AM in the morning on a Saturday. I decided to speak up about what was in my mind. "Greyson, about the screaming at you a while ago and thing about killing myself and such...um.. I'm sorry. I know that you just didn't want to hurt me." I looked at him. He looked at me with extreme and caring brown eyes. "You don't need to apologize. I just did what I had to do for my best friend." A smile creeping up in the corners of his mouth. I realized I was staring so I let down my gaze.
This reminded me of that overcoming feeling I had a while ago...it's like almost wanted to...kiss him. "What are you thinking Anayese? He is your best friend, not your boyfriend." I argued to myself. I hadn't realized I was frowning, but Greyson asked me if I was fine. "Oh, I'm good. You know you seem to care about me a lot nowadays. I never expected what you did to happen." I admitted. He nodded as if he agreed with me...well maybe he did. "I didn't expect it either." He confessed. "Well I know that even if I were okay by last night, you'ld still bother to do that for me." I told him. He scoffed. "How can you be so sure?"
"Because I'd do the same for you."
We got to the cafe and the strong smell of coffee and hot chocolate made it's way around me. It smelled delicious. I heard my stomach growl and I guess Greyson heard it too cuz he laughed. "Whatever." I rolled my eyes at him, but smiled. I was so happy we were getting along. We found a table right beside the window with a great view of the city. I didn't know LA was this nice during the early mornings.
"What would you want to eat or drink, lovebirds?" The waitress suddenly appeared next to me. I almost jumped out of my chair and Greyson seemed shocked too. Creepy... The waitress had an almost TOO bright smile on her face. Her eyes had a suspicious glint in it but I guess it was just the sleepiness that was in my eyes. "We aren't...um "lovebirds". She's my friend." Greyson told the waitress uncomfortably. It seemed like she was taking notes or something. "Um, Id like hot chocolate please." I kindly said, ignoring the awkward situation. Greyson asked for Vanilla Latte. "Nice choice." the lady said. She walked away and somehome the uneasy feeling went away as soon as she walked away too. I heard a "click" and my head turned into the direction of the waitress. I swear it came from her... almost like a camera... "Did you hear that?" I asked Greyson. "Hear what?" He said, unsure. "The click." I said. He must think I was out of my mind. "No." he said unsure. "Nevermind." It might've been my imagaination, but somehow, I was sure I heard it.
Another waitress came to us and gave us our drinks. It puzzled me how the other waitress seemed to have disappeared. A group of giggling girls holding teen magazines came in. There were about six of them. For some reason, I was never into this teen stuff. I always felt like an outcast in school for that. Their eyes found their way to Greyson and I knew things would get real messy. "OH MY GOD IT'S GREYSON CHANCE!" the girl with blonde hair and blue eyes practically screamed in the shop. People's heads turned towards her and she momentarilly felt embrassed and blushed. She got over the embarrassment and scrambled her way towards our table. I found this awkward that I seemed invisble to her. Her friends quickly followed her.
"Oh, my God, like I can't believe it's you!" She squealed. She had a heavy American accent and she reminded me of the "popular" girls in school before. As soon as she came here, I knew I wouldn't like her. "Um, yeah, me." Greyson said awkwardly. It was only that second when her head turned to me. Oh wow, her brain managed to detect another life form in this area. Do you want a medal? "You." She glared at me. The way she said "you" made my skin crawl. She sounded like she was about to murder me.
"What the HELL are you doing with my man?!" She pointed to Greyson. I would've laughed right then and there if she hadn't sounded like she was gonna throw a knife at me. "Um, I'm not sure wh-what you mean. I-I didn't do anything." I said, nervously. Great. I sound like a wimp. "Oh you know PERFECTLY what you did." She mocked my accent. If anything else pisses me off than annoying girls, is that people mock my accent. "Shut up." I told her. Even I was surprised by what came out of my mouth.
It seemed like she totally forgot Greyson. Three of her stupid friends were flirting with him and the other two were right behind her giving me death glares. Greyson was totally oblivious to the scene. "Excuse me? Did nothing? Tell me how you made the front page of J-14?" She held out the magazine. I stared at it. It was a picture of me and Greyson laughing while we were walking going to the studio. Another picture was of Greyson, at night, holding a white rose, about to enter the apartment. This was probably taken when Greyson got home after going to the studio to record the song. But that led me off track was the headline. "GREYSON CHANCE'S NEW GIRLFRIEND??!"
Wait, hold the phone. GIRLFRIEND?! WHAT?! I looked up at the girl still asking for an explanation. "Th-there must be a mistake. I am only his friend." I told the truth. "'Only his friend'" She mocked me. Anger was boiling inside of me. I didn't even know this girl and she was already threatening me. "I'd shut up if I were you, bitch." She said at once. That caught me off guard. Memories came flooding back to me. My mom yelling at me and calling me words I can't even say. As soon as the girl saw my expression, she smirked. She started calling me names like "slut, whore, attention-seeker" and much worse. She kept saying all these things that I wanted to curl up in a ball and die in a hole. I was about to burst into tears.
"STOP IT!" I practically screamed at her. Everyone was staring at me and Greyson was trying to figure out what was happening, but he was still blocked by the girl's ugly friends. The girl smirked and laughed. I pushed her away and ran. Ran as fast as I could and back to the apartment. I couldn't handle this. Not again. I made up my mind and went into the kitchen, grabbed the object I was looking for and went to my room. I just wished I could've said goodbye to Greyson. I wish I could tell him I couldn't keep his promise. I shut my eyes and prepared for the pain.
Greyson's POV:
What was happening? She just ran out of the coffee shop. I had a feeling that she was crying and I had a stomach-knotting feeling that something bad was about to happen. I know where she would run... but... oh my...God. She was going to kill herself. I pushed the girls away, yelling sorry, and ran to the counter. I pulled out a wad of cash and threw it at the surprised lady. "Sorry, keep the change!" I yelled and pulled open the door and ran as fast as I could. I prayed that Anayese was still safe when I got there.
I burst through the apartment, breathing pretty hard. I tried looking for her on the first floor. I checked the kitchen. I wondered what she could've done to herself. Then I saw something that made my blood stop cold. The drawer was wide open and it looked like someone was rummaging through the utencils. I looked for it. Oh...God.. It wasn't here. The knife was gone. That's when I heard a scream full of pain.
AN: Ooooohhhh! It may take a day or two for the next chapter so sorry to keep you hanging. I apologize for my lack of talent. Just a clue, of course the obvious one. Anayese will still be alive of course! Love stories never end without the LOVE part. But there may be things that are worse. Yah never know. XD Live Love Enchance
