Chapter 19: The Transfer

Angela's POV:
    "Sir, your father is here to see you." I said opening his office door.
     "Alright Angela, tell him to come in."
I did as I was told, and closed the door right behind me.
*2 hours later*
"Father, I do not agree with the fact that you are moving me to New Hampshire!" I hear Andrew yell.

I had decided to give both father and son some space so that they could talk and catch up, since they have not seen each other in a few months. But sadly, I do not think that leaving them alone was a good idea. Both of them have been constantly yelling at each other, I do not think that coming to this meeting was a good idea overall. But wait.....did I hear correctly? Andrew is moving to New Hampshire?! I cannot believe it!!!! I just got this job, and now I have to look for a new one.

"Angela!!!" Andrew yells. At the sound of my name, I quickly scurry to Andrew.

"Yes, sir?" I quickly reply.

"Do you think that moving to New Hampshire is a good idea?" He asked me with an angry face.
I stayed quiet for a bit. On one hand, I need this job but on the other I do not know the conditions of the company and it might be for the best that he leaves.
"Sir, your father knows what is best for the company that he himself built. I don't think that me intervening is the best idea, much less I don't think Mr. Blackwell would want to hear my opinion."

He stayed quiet meanwhile glaring at the floor. At that moment Mr. Blackwell chimes in, "Angela, on the contrary, I want to know what the daughter of a well-known businessman thinks about the expansion of a company that is well-developed and is in need of diffusing its services to the world?"

"Sir, as the daughter of my father and as the person that I am, I would say that only you know what is best for your company. But, you also have to remember that there are consequences to all actions that are taken in a person's life, especially in a business since you are in charge of many families, not just your own." I know that my big mouth would probably get me in trouble, maybe even fired, but he asked for my opinion.

"Angela, I have known your father for many years, and I don't expect anything less of you. I can see your father's character rubbed off on you," he grinned, then spoke again,"I don't expect anything less of him, but I can tell that you have your mother's intellect, grace, and beauty. Don't let any guy take that away from you." He softly smiled at me.
I didn't know that he was close friends with my dad? I can tell that he has dad in high regards, but overall I can sense the level of respect that they have for each other.
"Thank you for the compliments sir, but no guy has ever made me cry, in which it is nearly impossible to have a guy change who I am."
"Oh sweetie, in that case, you have not experienced love yet. Love controls the human mind and it makes us naive to the reality of situations. Nevertheless, before we get into a sappy conversation, Andrew you will be going to New Hampshire in two days, and Angela you will transfer to the accounting department and work alongside Maximilian. You know Maximilian, I presume?"
"Yes sir", I replied.
"Then it's settled, Andrew you will transfer to New Hampshire and Angela you will transfer with Maximilian."
"No! I don't think that's the best idea dad, you know Angela is still new to the company and I don't think she is able to handle so much stress in such a short time."
At that moment, I interrupted him immediately.
"Mr.Blackwell, I believe I am more than capable to endure the harshness of the accounting department. I have worked in all of the departments in my father's company. Along with the fact, that I had actually had the courage to get away from my father's influence and try to grow as a person on my own."
"Andrew, enough is enough. She will go with Max and you will move to New Hampshire for 6 months, I need you to get it started and at least let it get known around the area." Mr. Blackwell said sternly at his son.

Andrew's POV:
I can't believe Angela is going to be with Max for 6 months!!!!!!!!!!!
"Dad, I don't-" I stared to say, but I was cut off by my dad.
"Andrew, enough! I expect you to be in a flight in two days towards New Hampshire." And with that my dad left my office, closing the door with a loud thud.
I could tell Angela was about to leave but I just quietly said, "Angela, do you want to transfer to the accounting department?"
She stopped the clicks of her heels on the wooden floor and turned around,"Sir, I am an employee and as much power that my father has, I am a normal employee just like any other. And an employee must do what their employer tells them to do." And she started walking again towards the door.
"But that does not answer my question, do you want to go?" I said giving her a look of tiredness.
"Sir, I think working with an old friend is the best way to make myself grow accustomed to a new environment of a new company." She said slowly nodding. And with that I let her go.
I know the moment I leave, it's a clear opportunity for Max to get close to her. I cannot stand the idea of her getting close with another guy, much less being with another guy. As much as I hate it, I have to let her go, but just for a bit. Right after the new branch starts to gain customers, I want to come back and stay permanently.
I cannot have Angela and Max get too close together for too long.
